2017 - 10 - 20 330ml bottle. light yellow colour. small white head. citrus and hay in (light) aroma. light bitter and sour in taste.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2017 Couleur blonde très limpide, grosse mousse méga persistante. Nez qui fait grave penser à du cidre doux (normal pour une bière normande ?). Carbo super puissante, trop même. Notes fruitées, un peu pêche. C'est sympa mais la carbo excessive gâche tout.

à la maison. très bon rapport qualité prix pour cette bière blonde made in Normandie. Cette blonde est à mi-chemin entre la bière de soif et les american pale ale. Légère amertume en fin de bouche.

Bottle picked up from a large supermarket in Cherbourg, France, consumed at home sat in the garden in the company of Isobel on another lovely day, Sunday 9th July 2017 Golden in colour with a slim white head, light fruity beer, desperately boring, really drab, I cannot be arsed to rate or finish this it’s very, very boring. Bottle 33cl, a clear amber beer with medium head. Nose is on toasted caramel and brown caramel. Aroma is on sweet caramel, toffee, vanilla, floral with berries notes, good toasted caramel background, walnuts, hazelnuts, diacetyl . Good complexity, good malty side.

This was indeed listed as a kolsch on the menu, and while I wouldnt run out and call this a kolsch if I drank it blind, I’d much less call it a BdG. Very nice attenuation on the beer with very grassy, somewhat floral hops adding a moderate bitterness. There are some unusual flavors in here, not sure that I would agree they are off or unwanted. It is easy to write off unusual flavors to it being a "Farm Brewery" and while I certainly do not think that gives you free reign to produce strange or unclean beer, I rather liked the strange, yeasty flavors here. Light sourdough, biscuits and lemon are all mixed in with a light carbonation and somewhat watery texture to be expected at this gravity. I will admit that I agree on there being some soapiness here or some other such alkaline compound that is undesirable. Other than that, though, it goes down well and has a true enough malt and hop flavor. Trois 8 strikes me as a place that does a little homework on the breweries they are putting on tap, so I expect this isn’t just some second rate brewery.
Moderate haziness shows more sediment than it should, but it’s not cloudy. Head is small and fairly fleeting while the body is a pale, bronzed-tinged gold.
Nose smells of mineral water, floral and lightly citrusy hops. Bit of honey.

Le Trois 8, Paris, Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is like a light pils. Taste is slightly hopped and a bit of green apple. Very easy drinking. This was described as a kolsch, rather than a biere de garde on the menu, so I don’t know what is up.
