On tap. Pours amber with a medium white head. Very fruity aroma with caramel. Flavour is quite spicy and fruity with a good long malty aftertaste.

33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, clear, good head, good brew, but not a topper

Cherry malt smokey aroma quite suprising. Clear dark red colour with great head and lacing. Malt cherry flavour with rich fruit. Fizzy palate.

aroma is nice but not very dominant, clear red/brown with small but beautiful head, sweet flavor, dark fruits, great flavor. good beer indeed.

Capa (3299) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - JUN 9, 2008
Ruby colored with a pillowy, beige head. Fruits, caramel malts, some herbs, and an alcohol tinge. Sweet, malty, light molasses, dark fruits, light toffee, and some alcohol. Finishes with a light bitterness. Pretty solid brew, though not great.

bhensonb (15195) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 4, 2008
33 cl. bottle. Reddish amber color with a minimal beige head. Roasted caramel aroma; could be a hint of smoke. Medium body with creamy/fizzy carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt, a suggestion of smoke - but might be something else. Much more sweet than bitter. Could be a light, roasted malt, barley wine. Certainly has enough heat to burn the throat. Finishes sweet, and probably a bit thin for a barley wine. Certainly in that general class though. If the flavor weren’t so good, it might fit in the 24 oz higravity class.

Dark amber beer. A quite sweet taste. Round aroma. Reminds some barley wine taste.

Fruity red beer with some malt and rather sweet. Honey flaor maybe. Easy drinking and probably best as an aperitif beer.

2.9
Embrouille (2853) - SWITZERLAND - MAY 17, 2008
Sampled at the fête de la bière in Martigny, Switzerland. My version was 7% ABV. It pours a dark amber beer with a slightly tanned head. The nose is of yeast, fish, cheese and mushrooms?! Very peculiar and interesting. The taste is sweet yeasty with hints of mushrooms and spices. Evident alcohol. Yeasty finish. Nothing special.
