33 cl. bottle. Reddish amber color with a minimal beige head. Roasted caramel aroma; could be a hint of smoke. Medium body with creamy/fizzy carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt, a suggestion of smoke - but might be something else. Much more sweet than bitter. Could be a light, roasted malt, barley wine. Certainly has enough heat to burn the throat. Finishes sweet, and probably a bit thin for a barley wine. Certainly in that general class though. If the flavor werent so good, it might fit in the 24 oz higravity class.

Dark amber beer. A quite sweet taste. Round aroma. Reminds some barley wine taste.

Fruity red beer with some malt and rather sweet. Honey flaor maybe. Easy drinking and probably best as an aperitif beer.

Sampled at the fte de la bire in Martigny, Switzerland. My version was 7% ABV. It pours a dark amber beer with a slightly tanned head. The nose is of yeast, fish, cheese and mushrooms?! Very peculiar and interesting. The taste is sweet yeasty with hints of mushrooms and spices. Evident alcohol. Yeasty finish. Nothing special.

Deep brown colour with tight laced head. High alcohol content means that the maltiness is somewhat subdued with dryness taking its place. Some spices come through in the aftertaste.

Clear reddish brown with large off white head. Sweet aroma with notes of fruits, caramel and toasted malt. Flavor is sweet with yeast, caramel and berry notes. Ends sweet.

33 cL bottle, comes as Charles Quint / Keizer Karel. Pours golden and clear amber with a lacing off-white head. Light yeasty and malty aroma. Flavour is almost wineous malty with a nice overripe fruit note. Ends with a mild fruity flavoured malt base.

Bottiglia da 33cl a Napoli; schiuma beige non molto consistente, colore rosso/ambrato; aroma flebile piuttosto dolce, sapore ancora dolce per con una buona presenza alcolica e un po di metallo (neanche poco). Discreta.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2016 Draught at The magic Ruben, Brussel, Belgium. Deep copper, medium beige head. Nutty, caramelly, decent mouthfeel, dry finish and slightly metallic. 6/4/6/3/12->3.1
Second rating:
Draught at a Caf in Buillon, Belgium. Same as about, but I didnt catch the metallic notes this time. 8/5/8/5/16->4.2 is perhaps due to the fact that I drank it after having finished a six says hiking across the Ardennes. Final rating somewhere in between.

Bottle, 8.5%. Aroma of dark malts, a hint of soy. Clear dark brown colour. Nice and big, stable, lacy tan head. The flavour is malty and yeasty with a vegetable note that reminds me of Leffe. The alcohol is noticeable in the flavour, OK level, and slightly warming. The beer is a bit rough and unpolished, but OK.
