No head or lacing. Very carbonated for a porter. Smooth aftertaste with malty caramel flavor.

This was sent to me by Strykzone. Thanks Dave, Pours a dark color nearly black with a small beige head. Nose is chocolate and coffee. Medium plus in body. Smooth mouth feel. Flavor is rich and shows first chocolate and then coffee with some dark fruit. Citrus in finish but a lot of chocolate remains. Very nice and good drinking beer. My first beer from West Virginia. Sampled at the brewery. Opaque, semi clear brownish. More like dark fruit juice. No foam. Intetesting looking and not typical. A rich coffee and chocolate nose. This tastes like a throwback to previous ways of brewing. Again, interesting. I taste coffee first and it is very rich coffee. Dark fruit and dry chocolate. Later more citrus and west coast hop flavors emerge but remsin undertones. After that the plums are noted. This is not a new school beer. I like it and had fun trying it. Tap. Very dark brown with a nearly white head. Opaque and hits of ruby in the color. Roasty bitter coffee in the aroma, with some burlap, and alcohol hits somehow in there as well. Odd flavor at work, bark, coffee, some slight cocoa and its certainly not sweet. Dry and coffee bitter finish. Lighter body and flat. weihenweizen (4151) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - JUN 28, 2013
On tap sample at Charleston Brewing Company. Pours translucent brown with small beige head. Medium body, medium carbonation, and light nutty aroma. Taste is rich nutty malty goodness. The marriage of a porter and an English nut brown. My favorite beer so far at Charleston Brewing Company.
