Bottle from Wine & Cheese. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate and bourbon. Med body or so. Sort of plummy, chocolate and bourbon. Finishes just a bit earthy and fruity. Not quite dry. marcus (10669) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 27, 2017
Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head and a treacle and bourbon aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses and dark fruit flavor with a bourbon finish. Strykzone (7657) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JAN 31, 2017
Sampled at an ESBLS. Dark brown with amber. Not a lot of foam. Boozy aroma! Big booze. Massive booze is tasted. This is not an improvement. The original is my favorite chocolate beer. That smooth and is now sweeter but not really chocolate. This takes it down. ctipping (2233) - Florida, USA - JAN 13, 2017
12 oz. bottle. Almost black body. Medium off-white head. Smells of chocolate, some bready malts, and a little bit of Belgian yeast. Tastes really chocolatey. Not very sweet, though. Some dark fruits and bready malts. Something like a bourbon barrel character, but it’s a pretty light flavor compared to the quad and chocolae. Medium heavy. Nice chocolate flavor. It kinda carries the beer. jandd1983 (4602) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - APR 5, 2016
2014 bottle. It poured a dark brown / black color with a tan head. The aroma was of chocolate, bourbon, dark fruits, vanilla and more bourbon. The taste was similar to the aroma with more chocolate, bourbon, dark fruits, wood, vanilla and more bourbon. Very tasty.

25.4oz bottle - one of 396 from the 2015 release. Dark brown hue/thin tan head. Beautiful bourbon nose. Tasted of bourbon, oak, thinned quadrupel; full- body and low carbonation. wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 17, 2015
Tasted on 2/1/15 from a capped 750mL bottle during our Super Bowl tasting, big thanks to Kyle for sharing this Wine and Cheese Place gem. Pours almost black with a thick tan head that leaves average lace. The nose is all milk chocolate, banana yeast, and maple bourbon oak. The flavor is fairly sweet, the same milk chocolate dominance with banana yeast and plenty of bourbon, really great. The body is full with light carbonation and a long super chocolatey maple finish. alexsdad06 (10803) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 23, 2014
Bottle shared by phaleslu at Natifest (from notes). Pours a slightly hazy brown color with a small sized beige head. The aroma and flavor had sweet caramel, toffee, cream, light barrel notes, some milk chocolate, dark fruits especially on the flavor, raisins, Belgian candi sugar. I thought this was sweet, but thought it was pretty good. I apparently liked it better than some at the tasting. beastiefan2k (4082) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - AUG 7, 2014
Shared at a tasting by Mike. Pours with a very pale head with a black body. Aroma is unsweet thick and fumey, very much like the original. Some hints of booze but rightly placed. Same in flavor. I may have not known this was a barrel aged beer without the label. Its not sweet, its not acidic, its not boozy, its not so many things that are bad about big barrel aged beers. Bottle shared by phaleslu at Natifest. Pours a dark brown with no head. The aroma is graham crackers, spices, and chocolate. The taste is big sweetness. Thicker mouthfeel and low carbonation.
