2/3/2014. On tap. Dark brown with a tan head. Malty and chocolate aromas with spices. Predominantly chocolate flavors with light spice, fruit and a semi-sweet finish. Nice balance.

The aroma belnds the smell of chocolate and caramel malts, and the appearance is an opaque black with a medium off-white head. The taste is mildly sweet and mildly umami, and these mellow out to be quite chocolately on the finish. The palate also fuses a full body, thick texture, and a soft carbonation.

From ZDKs gathering. The aroma is caramel, sweet, chocolate, but odd sort of artificial-ness. The appearance is brown in color, off-white head. The flavor is like a box of chocolates, a mash up of chocolate, and other sweet flavors, like strawberry, raspberry, etc. The finish is sweet, light pine. Very good.

22oz bottle shared by Andy at zach & Matts tasting. Pours brownish black with a medium tan head. Aroma is roasty with a strong salted caramel profile. Wow. Taste is totally fudgey chocolate with a sweet and salty edge. Really interesting and an enjoyable beer.

22oz bottle via trade. Deep dark brown with a small fizzy head that quickly fades to a tiny ring. Aroma of milk chocolate mostly with some vanilla and caramel. Flavor is sweet chocolate and milk caramels with very light roast, alcohol very well hidden. Medium to full body with a soft, smooth mouth feel. I dont get any Quad character in this, its all about the chocolate. A great sweet chocolate beer, a horrible Quad.

This was an interesting brew. Aroma of chocolate with sweet dark fruits, like a cordial cherry almost. The flavor was a strange combo of chocolate with a sweet dessert wine, or possibly prunes or raisins. Somehow, that combination of sweet dark fruit and bittersweet chocolate works. Again on the finish, I was getting both chocolate and wine. All in all, really delicious and unique.

Holy cordial cherry batman. This is what i was reminded of here. I starting enjoying this quite a bit but I had a hard time finishing a 10oz snifter. Alittle too thick and sweet for me...which is unusual. I love the bottle art...love as a beer to share. No nuances. Just big time flavor

22 oz. bottle. Pours a black cola like color with a small head. Its black. The aroma has some chocolate, roast flavors, and Belgian yeast like esters though the latter is he lighter of the three. The taste really brings the chocolate into play. A wave of smooth chocolate glides across the palate. I must say the name is very fitting and I am glad they did not hold back on the chocolate. The palate is smooth and silky almost like some good chocolate.
