Bottle shared by CaptainCougar. Pours clear black with a medium/small fizzy light tan head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is huge chocolate, light toast and nutty malt, dates, figs, and prunes, and light earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant, dark fruits, chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate with a sweet finish. Full body, medium warmth and carbonation. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - APR 15, 2012
Holy shit that is a lot of chocolate. They weren’t lying at least. Unfortunately it’s undrinkably sweet and gross. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 15, 2012
651mL thanks to CaptainCougar. Pours deeper amber with medium tan head. Good lace. Sweet chocolate nose with salty black olive. Taste is tangy, big chocolate box, with gritty cocoa powder and black patent malt olive and smokey ash. Not a quadrupel whatsoever. Sweet Stout perhaps.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with thin, fizzy light beige head; short retention and no lacing. Aroma is milk chocolate, roasted malt, earthy hops, dark fruit, and vanilla. Flavor is malt forward with supporting dark fruit esters and faint hops; chocolate notes throughout with a dry, cocoa finish. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth. 22oz bottle courtesy of phaleslu: Pours a clear dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a rich cocoa and dark caramel aroma with some dark fruity notes. Starts with good fullness and chewy dark caramel maltiness with a doughy yeasty complexity. Finishes sweet and chocolaty. An interesting and unique brew.

22oz bomber poured into a snifter. From Beernbourbon in a trade, thanks Vince! Pours black with no head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruits and Belgian sugar. Taste is medium sweet. Mostly chocolate with sugar and dark fruit and a little dash of vanilla. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Soft carbonation and a long chocolaty finish. Overall, very good. I would gladly drink this again. TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAR 18, 2012
Thanks JCB for sharing. Brown with a small tan head. Nose shows lots of sweet chocolate, lighter roast, light dark fruits. Flavor is kinda strange. I get some vegetal notes (brussels sprouts??), more cocoa, light roast. Not my box of chocolates. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 15, 2012
Bottle thanks to billshmeinke. Pours with a clear (when held up to the light), pretty close to black hue with a small tan head. Aromas are of raisins, tons of dark fruit esters, raspberries, lots of cocoa nibs, vanilla, dark chocolate, banana, pear esters (pear drops) and maybe a bit of lactose. Flavors are of pear, chocolate, cocoa, esters, earthy, nutty and very fruity. Tons of esters (including pear and banana), some candy notes and maybe even something along the lines of peanut butter. Somewhat lively carbonation for a big beer like this. Fuller bodied. Nice. emacgee (4674) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - MAR 14, 2012
Thanks JCB for sharing. Pours a rich dark brown with a dark tan head. Lots of chocolate in the nose, tootsie roll character. Nothing but chocolate here with some caramel, no quad coming through at all. Medium body with a light oxidation. Interesting adnielsen (10605) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 10, 2012
