Bottle… This beer rocks!… Pours dark brown with a mid-sized, off-white head. The bouquet is quite chocolaty with additional notes of cola and dried, dark fruits. Full-bodied and mildly creamy with sheepish carbonation. Like the nose, the flavor is plenty chocolaty and sweet with loads of dried dark fruits. Finishes, sweet and chocolaty with a kiss of vanilla. Big-time thanks to phaleslu for shipping this world class beer my way! daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAY 29, 2011

UPDATED: APR 4, 2012 Bottle with Steve and the Foco BA crew. Reddish brown appearance with a small, tan head. Belgian chocolate, light candy sugar, light caramel, chocolate aroma. A touch tangy, Belgian yeasty, dark milk chocolate, candy sugar, dark fruity, plum, raisin flavor. Sweet dessert beer that’s pretty nice. 22 oz bottle shared with the group in December 2012. Pours a slightly hazy brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor had sweet caramel, toffee, some milk chocolate, dark fruits especially on the flavor, Belgian candi sugar. I thought this was sweet, but very good in my opinion. gnoff (10367) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - OCT 14, 2012

Clear dark brown to black color, brown head. Sweet, malty scent. Sweet, malty, bitter taste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.
Draft served in a snifter at International Tap House in Soulard. Pours an opaque dark brown color with a small beige ring for a head. Very surprised this is a quad based on what it smelled and tasted like. Aroma is heavy on dark and baker’s chocolate notes, along with vanilla, dark fruits, woody and earthy notes, caramel, and booze. Almost smells like a bourbon barrel-aged beer. Flavor carries a little more of the quad characteristics, with more fruity, earthy notes and some yeast to go with the heavy dose of chocolate. Some warming alcohol late. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, boozy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. It seems like I keep finding these surprisingly great Charleville beers at iTap and I hope that trend continues. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 3, 2014

651mL thanks to CaptainCougar. Pours deeper amber with medium tan head. Good lace. Sweet chocolate nose with salty black olive. Taste is tangy, big chocolate box, with gritty cocoa powder and black patent malt olive and smokey ash. Not a quadrupel whatsoever. Sweet Stout perhaps.
