This wonderful wheat is slightly sweet and spicy from the coriander and candied orange peels that are part of this traditional Belgium recipe. Simply delicious served with a slice of lemon.

Gross!! Just hard to stomach. Sweet and sour at the same time. Not a good mix of sweet orange and lack of wheat/yeast notes.

This is cloudy golden brew and it is absolutely laden with coriander citrus character. It is not altogether bad but very much one dimension in the vein of something like Blue Moon or Leinenkugels beers in the same style. It is lightly sweet with some cookie dough malt character with perhaps slightly overly vigorous carbonation. I think a beer like this will have its fans. Like, if you brought it to party, someone there would think it was great but to me it is just not nearly subtle enough to qualify as a good wit.

Pour at the RBsG 2014 Schlafly Brunch (Maplewood, MO). Pours a hazy gently darker orange golden hue, a bit dulled, loose bubbles with some lively carbonation, frothy whitish head atop stays as a loose ring, laces minimally. Aromas are nice, a firmer coriander bent with gentle spice, orange rind and juice, flaked wheat. Some more citric bite meets that strong coriander feel. Initial is spritzy, dry and bubbly with some firmer coriander, mellow orange peel and bread. A smaller body shows more orange rind and juice, touches of grain, gentle dryness. Backend is a bit lighter, gentle crisp/dry element cuts through. Finish a touch dry, tart and lemon/orange play. That firmer coriander feel tapers out and becomes a bit more manageable.
