Golden yellow in color, thick with Belgian yeast and fruit like aromas. Lots of earth like flavors herbal was heard a lot around the table. Lots of citrus in the flavor this was well balanced and was a surprise for me this night.
750ml bottle at the DC Local tasting. Pours a hazy, yellow gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is big on candy sugar, Belgian yeast, a little spice, a little tropical fruit. Where are the hops? Flavor is sweet, finally you find some hop bitterness, sweet sugars too. Finish is medium bodied with some light, lasting hop bitterness. barncatmatt (2287) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 3, 2010
750 ml bottle from a trade with fred82. pours slightly hazed gold with a huge fluffy white head. thick sheet of lace cover the wall of my tulip. aroma of pils malt and american hops, a bit of dusty yeast. the flavour is outstanding. soft and subtle, perfectly constructed and complex. the lean malt body provides excellent structure for the hopping. rather dry for 10%, and not bitter for 70 IBUs. perfectly balanced and insanely drinkable. fucking phenominal beer.

Bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar at April’s DC local tasting, thanks. Bright yellow color, huge off white head. Aroma of freshly baked bread and citrus. Taste is very smooth, with a subtle edge of lemon. Very nice. Flamojune (113) - Ville de Quebec, Quebec, CANADA - APR 23, 2010
Excellent hybrid entre une tripel belge et une double ipa. Nearly same as Chouffe Houblon excepte for the simcoe hop( vs tomahawk hop). sebletitje (10282) - Enghien, BELGIUM - APR 22, 2010
bottle @ Miami Fandango ’10 gathering. Thanks hopscotch.
pours golden, white head.
Aroma picked up many Belgian characteristics of strong ales; yeast sweetness, sugar notes along with malt and hops.
flavors, retains a lot of the Belgian ale yeasty flavors and compensated with the addition of tons of spices and fruits of the various hops used in this brew. A lot going on, grapefruits adding a mild bitter palate, lots of citrus, lemon and tropical notes. robinvboyer (4736) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - APR 19, 2010
Huge fruity hop bomb! Tge fruit comes through quite a bit with some great yeasty esters. The big hop pinch mingles so well with the fruit flavors. Loads of apple, citrus, and pear. Tge finish is crisp and bitter with a little sour kick. Wicked stuff.
