Bottle which lovely parents brought back for me, from their Canadian Rockies adventure. Very sweet, caramel flavour. Piney aroma. Thick in the mouth and rather subtle. The hops are muted, but that’s my fault for not drinking quick enough. Warming. Feels quite ’big’. Score is given a couple of extra marks, due to my tardiness. radiomgb (2838) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 8, 2012
Pale golden-amber in colour with a large off-white head, excellent lacing, good retention. Aroma is of pine, lots of hops, floral, light citrus, caramel. Flavour is highly sweet, more pine, grapefruit, caramel, soap, high bitterness. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, hoppy, some alcohol warmth.Enjoyit (3809) - Vadum, DENMARK - JAN 25, 2012
This is a big beer that has trouble to find a direction at times. Emphases on hops making this a bit unbalanced.
500ml bottle purchased at La Trappe a Fromage in Gatineau, Quebec.
Opened on July 1, 2010.
Bottled on April 27, 2010.
Amber of color with a white head. An aroma of sweets, hops, grapefruit and caramel. A flavor of sweets, hops, caramel. A very sweet IPA! reebtogi (6378) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 23, 2012
500ml bottle pours an orangeish golden color with an impressive white head with good retention settling down to some fine lacing on the glass. Interesting aroma of hops with some grains. Taste is a nice hoppy bitterness with a decent malty sweet backbone with some earthy notes. Medium body and nice carbonation. This is a pretty decent DIPA, but I have tried better ones. Aroma is light tangy sweet hops which I enjoy. It pours orange golden in color with a decent white head. The flavor has that German hop bitterness with sweet notes to help smooth out the palate. The body is medium and finished a bit syrupy with the hops and citrus notes settling well on the palate.

Bottle. Slightly hazy orange body, small white head. Broad bready and malty aroma, some spices. Full-bodied taste, medium dry hoppiness. Rather neutral taste for a IIPA however, nothing special here, then again, nothing unpleasant either. Countbeer (6599) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 31, 2011
Thanks to Pushkinwow.
Medium off white head that changes into a lacing quick on top of a hazy amber orange colored beer.
Smell oatmeal, malts, just a hint of hops, sticky sweet grains/malts/barleys.
Taste sticky malts, sticky barleys, corn, some slight hint of yeast, hops, pine, good bitter (and growing) and light spicy.
Good bitter sweet malty aftertaste.
Low carbo, soft almost silky mouthfeel, full body and a creamy texture.
Guess it was just a bit too old, the imperial wasn’t really to be noticed, though the bitterness was really good. BLAP (73) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 16, 2011
Deep blond almost amber color. Strong aromas of citrus, herbs and a little of spruce. Heavy bitterness and sweetness. JB84 (652) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 22, 2011
Pour copper/bronze white head. Aroma malty, caramel, biscuit, bitter hops, citrus. Taste butterscotch, caramel, pine, grapefruit, citrus, very malty, Halloween toffee, however an old bottle. MF medium sticky body light carb. Solid would enjoy trying fresh. yngwie (17234) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 21, 2011
Bottle, courtesy of Enjoyit. It pours a clear, amber body and a dense off-white head. Too sugary on the nose, with pineapple, citrus peel and some resins. The flavor too is a bit on the sweet side. A nice bitterness and hoppy flavors balances it, pineapple, lemon peel and a resiny touch. Full-bodied and effervescent. Bitter finish with sugary malts. A quite nice one, but even a double ipa shouldn’t have this much sugar. 110129
