COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Charter Oak’s Royal Charter Pale Ale beer (named after the Connecticut charter hidden in the Charter Oak Tree) is the little brother to our IPA, but still brewed with plenty of flavor and hops. This top fermented ale will be solidly an American Pale Ale style; not too sweet and not too bitter, but complex enough to not disappoint you. From your first sip and scent of a citrus and floral aroma, a solid backbone of the Cascade Hop can be detected. We hope you will enjoy this well balanced, medium bodied, and deep golden appearance in our Pale Ale. We can assure you it is not intensely hopped up, but only a subtle bitterness and dry finish. This is a beer you can drink all night long!

Pours amber with a fine head. Aroma oak and quiet caramel, slightly bitter. Flavor bigger with a broad mouthfeel. Aftertaste grows toward more bitterness with a little salt and a strange plastic. Overall a good look coming but the aftertaste of plastic is off-putting.

Pours a pretty clear honey-like color. It has very good head retention and also has nice lacing. Smells piney and slightly malty with a slightly sweet and bitter finish. Surprisingly decent drink.

bottle. amber with small head. mild malt base with bitter hops. slightly lacking in flavor. unremarkable but certainly drinkable.

Bottle poured a brown copper color with a covering of off white head that fell to a ring on the glass. Aroma has malts, light sweetness, pines, and light resins. Mouth feel is light and there is good carbonation. Flavor leans to the malted side, medium bitterness, resins, and a very light hit of citrus. The beer itself is nice and flavorful for the abv. and the label design is done well. More malt and bitterness than expected for the style. My first beer from the brewer who happens to come from my home town.
