Draft at Keyaki Spring 2015. Amber with a modest off white soapy head. Biscuit aromas with sakura and grain. Sakura flavor is there but not overbearing. Slightly sweet without being cloying. Some lemon zest in there as well. evergreen0199 (3460) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 9, 2015
On tap at Chateau Kamiya, Ibaraki, Japan. A dark amber coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Cinammon, spice, cherry blossom aroma. Tastes of cinammon, spice, cherry blossom. slightly sweet. Very interesting and tasty. KansaiBeerLvrs (5305) - Kyoto, JAPAN - APR 4, 2014
Bottle direct from the brewery, 500ml for about 650 yen - a decent price. A wonderful amber brown pour with a thick light beige head & a HUGE Sakura Mochi sweet aroma. Very sweet, a touch of cinnamon it brings to mind the Kyoto speciality Sakura Yatsuhashi. Medium bodied with a slightly rough carbonation the taste is straight up Japanese sweets, cinnamon & Sakura with a Mochi (rice cake) breadiness. after warming up some biscuity malt notes come through. It finishes on an earthy vibe, pretty good but that initial flavor punch is quite sweet & if you aren’t a fan of cinnamon & Sakura Mochi you probably won’t enjoy this. But for a taste of Japanese Spring Hanami Parties this is pretty damn good.

My Bottom Line:

An intense biscuity, floral profile dominates this compelling creation from aroma to finish.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the misty amber.
-The soft effervescence lets all the cherry blossoms express themselves at will.
-That is one memorable brew. If you don’t like sakura mochi, or simply floral notes, you will not like this. However, it is difficult NOT to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into this.
-This remains drinkable despite the intensity.
-The finish is also lightly tart.
On tap at the brewery restaurant.
On tap at the brewery at RBJG#2. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Very sweet with aromas of Bastogne kiks. Some yeasty bitterness. Hints of plastic. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Unm4rk3d (87) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - APR 12, 2013
What a great scented beer. Almost as nice as when you walk by a woman with an aroma so enticing! Back to the beer... the taste is not as good nor the palate. However this nectar with a golden hue sure pleases. TimE (6076) - Tokyo, JAPAN - APR 8, 2013
dark amber color. Spicy, almost gingerbread nose but closer to Sakuramochi. The mouth is light, malty, unsweet. Spicy finish. Really pleasant with lingering gingerbread finish. shoulderbroken (4255) - Tokyo, JAPAN - APR 2, 2013
Tap at the brewery. Golden colour, off white head. Aroma is really floral, crazy. Taste is strange, bit salty maybe, floral again, very strange but nice. Slight bitterness. Really interesting so extra points!
