Amber color with a small thin lid of light tan bubbles. Odd scents with tart cherries and urinal scents. Sharp fruity edge for the flavor, but with big hops and a long herbal bitter finish 4/10

sandy tan head with a slight pink tinge... big sheets of lacing as the head drops... The brew is a deeply hazed amber.
Nose shows light hints of Belgian phenols ... the cherries are definitely present yet seem pretty lite... really, the aromas in general are a tad lite... Not bad, just I was hoping for more.
Initial sips showed bits of medicinal cherry cough syrup, but that went away as the glass opened up.. Again, some minor Belgian spiciness shows in the beginning and then melts away into the cherry essence... I can gather bits and pieces of pepper and clove if I concentrate, but overall, the Belgian qualities are minor. BeerRenter76 (1035) - Texas, USA - JUL 22, 2015
Pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a medium sized white head that leaves some sporadic lace the glass on the way down.Smells of sweet malt, some yeast aromas, and then a nice citrusy, piney hop aroma at the end.The malt was sweet upfront and then it moved to bitter while mixed with yeast flavors and a piney/citrusy hop finish. Not a bad taste, mouthfeel is smooth, with a good amount of carbonation, medium bodied. slowrunner77 (12804) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 2, 2014
brick red. aroma of earth, must, oak, and a hint of cherry. fairly subtle with the fruit in the flavor too, at least for a fruit beer. not a traditional kriek, which could’ve been epic, but pretty good nonetheless. i’d have it again, but won’t go out of my way."

650ml bottle. Dark cherry in colour, long lasting off-white head, excellent lacing. Aroma is sharp, some light cherries, herbal, pale malts. Flavour is quite sweet, cherries and other dark fruits, nit much else. Sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes sweet and fruity. Not as good as the other chatoe rogue beer I’ve had, just okay.

Old rating from 2012 - Pours hazy pale yellow with a small white head. Smell is a blend of fruity hops and malt sweetness. The taste is big citrus/tart fruit with a delayed dry and bitter aftertaste. Light in body and nicely carbonated. Pretty nice with an integrated taste. Learninbeer (639) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - OCT 4, 2013
The bottle I have is very similar but with a green border not purple and it is called First Growth Single Malt Ale. Pours very clear light golden color with full head, mostly diminishing with excellent lacing. The aroma is a light hoppiness. The taste is light bitter, a touch sour. The body is creamy, light and the finish a light bitter. Not bad. Braudog (6835) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - SEP 4, 2013
Bottle. Pours with almost no head and just a bit of fizz. Dark red. Very light on the palate, this drinks with an almost cherry soda-like character. The cherry flavor is definitely up front, and there’s little off set it. Enjoyable enough, if that’s what you want. (#5242, 9/4/2013)
