Strong earthy malts with a moderate caramel-brown sugar sweetness sliding into a bready Scottish back end. Mild bitterness on the finish, and the fade is sufficiently round and warm. Slight hints of butter, but a little butter never hurt nobody. BelgianBeerGal (4068) - Panama City, Florida, USA - SEP 4, 2016
On tap at Chattanooga Springhill Suites after a day of rock climbing. I chose it because it was a local and it wasn’t a vienna lager. I made a good choice. Nice flavors of spice, coffee and chocolate. Worked for me! Tmoney99 (14501) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 8, 2015
Draft. Poured hazy orange copper with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate sweet spice and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium spic sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met. nearbeer (5424) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 31, 2015
Pint on tap. Clear copper-brown with a film of creamy beads. Nose of caramel and mild cocoa and spice. Tastes of molasses, vanilla, raisin and just enough toasted walnut and dry grass on the finish to balance. Medium body has medium carbonation and is to the sweet side but not sticky. There might be a light dose of earthy spice(s) in here but overall this seems like a good Scottish. chinchill (5025) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 29, 2014
On tap at the brewery. 6.1% ABV
This "English festive ale" is similar to Samuel Smith’s Winter Warmer, but les spicy.
Clear red-brown with a good head and decent lacing.
Nice malty aroma with subtle hops. The flavor follows.
O: Flavorful but relatively mild winter warmer.
