MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 19, 2010
Draught, 7.8% at the brewpub. Sweetish, roasted aroma, faintly vinous. Black colour. Small brown head. The flavour has a lot of coffee, especially coffee bitterness. Hard roasted malts. Some grassy hop with a bit of hop burn. Slightly creamy finish, does not seem quite right, somehow.

On cask at the Blind Tiger. Pours an opaque black with no head. Very pleasant aroma of roasted malt along with a few notes of chocolate. The flavor is roasted malt with a bit more chocolate than the aroma. Smooth on the palate; this stuff is dangerously easy to drink. Very enjoyable.

MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 5, 2010
A Sim rate (gravity at the Blind Tiger, NYC): Rich, red wine aroma. Sweet and chocolatey. Flavour is rich dark chocolate with a tinge of chili. So easy drinking. Bitter taste that just makes you want to quench the bitterness with more stout. Good. So easy-drinking.

HonusWagner (2168) - Florida, USA - JUN 6, 2010
A nice drinking Nitro stout with the good creamy/coating mouthfeel I desire. Not particularly over the top flavor profile but a good cocoa smoothness and slightly sweet coffee finish. Really easy stuff to drink for the ABV.

caesar (7156) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 27, 2010
Tap @ Boston/NY 2009. Dark color, short head. Smooth, roasted, oatmeal? Bit sweet, chocolat, hint of coffee. Again a bit dryish. Good stout.

Nickls (2535) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - MAY 4, 2010
(Old BA rate - tap) Dense jet black color, with a nice creamy tan head that held well. Light roasted malt aromas, and really the smokey/roasted aromas are all that’s going on to my nose. Dryish roastiness, with some fainter burlapy/grainy flavors. Medium to thicker MF, and not that creamy. Carbonation was what I would expect for the style (light, but still some snappy bubbles). Just OK drinkability for me as the flavor range was not overly complex (even for the style) and really didn’t quaff as well as some other examples that I’ve tried. Overall, this was more than a solid brew.

Black and milky...the way i like it. An excellent stout! I would definitely have this one again!

(Rating #2975)

Nearly opaque black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate, smoke, burnt wood, light dark fruit, and faint alcohol. Taste of roast, dark chocolate, smoked wood, and a bit of fruit, with a dry finish, and some alcohol.

basspro76 (426) - New York, USA - MAR 31, 2010
An extremely smooth stout. Looks like milk chocolate. Taste is all over the place with hints of chocolate, a little spiciness with the chocolate, coffee and some roasted malts. good stuff.
