On tap @ gig’s - an amber-red ale in the glass, bright but not clear, had a protien haze served a bit too cold, cleared as it warmed. 1 finger cap, fair retention. Aroma ia distinctly malty-sweet with some earthy hop tones. Flavour follows aroma - a good blend of crystal and amber malts, decent woody-earthy hop balance, lightly sweet but not cloying, clean finish where a light bittering shows up. I like this rendition of a I-red the sweetness is demure and not unwelcome.
From notes. Pours a nice clear amber orange colour with a slight foamy head. Aroma of chocolate malts and sweet candy, Flavours of roasted malts, bitter chocolate and nice herbal bitter notes. Nicely balanced.

On tap at the Brewer’s Backyard event, aka The Constitutional Draught. Very good for the style, with some notable hopping and with above average mouthfeel. Very filling, well malted Reddish body, white crowning head, and lacey. Well carbonated. mabel (9245) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 26, 2012
[4523-20120617] Tap. Mild chocolatey malt dust aroma with a hint of honey. Clear, red orange body with a quick foamy white head. Burnt nutty chocolate dust flavour has a light bittersweet chocolate chip aftertaste. Medium body. Tasty enough, good to try. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

2012-06-17. Crisp dark amber-red body, with a small beige head. 3+ Flavour has an odd malty character to it, caramel malt and an earthy tang to it. Modest aroma, has a toasty caramel malt character. 6+ Both the aroma and flavour have that "Irish Red" character to them that I can never describe with any sort of eloquence. Average bodied palate. Decent, simple example of a style that I am not overly fond of, tasted on a day I that it was really not what I was looking for. I tried this beer on May 18, 2012 at "C’est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent ruby red with a light tan coloured head that laced down the glass. The aroma was grass, caramel, and some floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour has a little bit of smoked wood, caramel, and a nice hoppy finish
Deep ruddy amber pour - tight tan head. There is a little bit of a toasted but aroma has a nice toasted malt base and a bit of light earthy UK bitterness. Fairly assertive bitterness along with a bit of lingering fruit. A light whiff of diacetyl, but it’s not too bad. Comes across more like like butterscotch than straight up butter. As it warms some hop character really comes to the fore. Nice balance - more bitter than Red Ale, despite the name. neongolden (1784) - Linköping, Sweden/Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 5, 2012
On tap @ Bryden’s, Toronto. Pours a clear reddish amber with a half-inch white head that did not last. Aroma of toffee malts, bread dough, nuts, bit of red fruit. Flavour malt-forward, toffee and grain again, light toast, a little fruity. Some bitterness that builds at the finish, ends dry. Body fairly light, carbonation soft and creamy, no alcohol notes. Nothing revolutionary, but a solid easy-drinking traditional style. Spab (4003) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 31, 2012
On tap at Volo. Pours a clear amber colour with moderate-sized off-white head. Aroma is heavy toffee-ish malt with a distinct fruity note. Taste is also quite malt-forward with toffee, fruit and grains. Bit of a sour note in the finish. Average body. Ok. solidfunk (9363) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAR 29, 2012
pours dark maroon with a little head retention. Lacing is quite good though. The aroma is virtually nonexistent. The taste follows through with a good a little bitterness, almost coffee bean or stoutlike. Body is pretty light other than that. Actually a little cream to it. Beer is growing on me. On tap at The Rhino.
