Chimay Blue is principally distinguished by its character of a strong beer. This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

pours a fuzzy brown with a small beige head. Tastes of sweet malts with a bit of a spicey kick, I also get the tastes of dark fruits and fairly strong alcohol, the taste is a bit wine like.

The taste evolves in your mouth. three distinct phases, while you're drinking it, the finish and then aftertaste. Notes of banana and molasses. Strong alcohol taste is prevalent throughout. A complex flavor profile. Very good but not my favorite Belgium May 2017. I bumped it up to 4.3 from 4.0. A fine quad ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep, dark, rich and velvety with an off white head. At first, the alcoholic bite is a bit too much in comparison to the delicate flavours that the brew holds. I found that leaving the beer in the glass for a while (and swirling it aplenty!) made all the difference in releasing the full (I'm gonna say it!) bouquet of components that blend into this complex and demanding beer.

Color marrón oscuro, rojizo si le da la luz, turbio, con capa de espuma de un blanco amarronado de tres dedos de grosor (muy buena retención). Carbonatación alta visualmente. Textura oleosa y ligeramente efervescente. Aroma a fruta madura, levadura, especias, flores. Postgusto a fruta madura.

Pours dark brown, big tan head. Aroma is rich roast malt , dark fruit, cherry, plum, cocoa, yeast, nutmeg. Feathery carbonated mouthfeel despite medium to heavy quality. More dark malt, intense toasty, fruity, winey notes, occasionally the hops and alcohol bite.

330ml bottle. Pours dark brown with medium off-white head. Aroma of dried fruits, plums, caramel, malts, yeasts. Medium body with lively carbonation. Taste is well-balanced bitter-sweet with alcohol warmth.Rich and tasty.

Color oscuro tirando a rojo.

I like this beer. I'm a sucker for trappist beers and their dark fruit notes and yeast. This is no exception. Great beer.

Top tier Belgian Strong. Pours cola brown capped with an ice cream dollop tan head with enough structure to transcend the rim of the chalice. Spicy yeasty nose with a complex amalgam of must, fall spices, raisin, plum and dark cherry. Drinks much lighter than It's 9% would portend. Nice wash of carbonation at the end of each sip will keep you returning for more.
