COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned - 150 cl, 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles. Named Grande Réserve in 75 cl bottles, and Magnum Grande Réserve in 150 cl bottles.
Chimay Blue is principally distinguished by its character of a strong beer. This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Notas de membrillo y ligeros toques tostados y especiados. Prolongado amargor intenso con un regusto ligeramente herbal.

A dark, strong Trappist ale, Chimay Bleue is a fabulous beer. Featuring a dark flavour and palate, it nonetheless comes off with a clean and crisp aftertaste. It has a sweet taste, and a lingering coffee style flavour. This is one of my favourites of its kind, and I can certainly say is a complex and drinkable beer. Highly recommended.

Bottle from AH. Dark cloudy red brown with beige white foamy head. Rich, sweet, and slightly floral with bitter aftertaste. Nice

Warka 12/22 .

Here's one of my personal favourites. Colour is dark brown, with big tan head. Very rich taste. Well, now I have to go back to the store...

33cl bottle at home. Appearance: hazy mahogany with big eggshell white head. Aroma: banana, dark malts, brown sugar, dark fruits, spice, hint of white pepper. Taste: high sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of red fruits, unripe banana, dark malts, brown sugar/molasses, bread. Palate: medium bodied, oily texture and medium carbonation. An excellent classic ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle in Voot. Dark brown with a large head. Aroma of raisins and syrup. Flavour is bittersweet, fruit malt, a little winter beer, sweet fruit malt finish.

Chimay Bleue laat je nooit in de steek. Goed bier. smaken van kandijsuiker, karamel, donker fruit, heel mooi in balans.

Dark brown color with light tan head. Aroma has toasted malt and brown sugar with a bit of caramel and dark fruits. Taste follows with dark malts and brown sugar, really well balanced by a light toasted malt bitterness on the finish. Well hidden ABV. Medium body and carbonation. Overall it's a really well made Belgian ale.

Ciemnobrązowe z rubinowymi przeblyskami, niska piana, mocne nagazowanie. W aromacie na poczatku czuc slabe wino musujace, dalej oranzade, landrynki, sporo nut slodowych. Po czasie czuc rodzynki. Nieco alkoholowe. Slodkie z poczatku, pozniej slodko-alkoholowe co razem z wysokim nagazowaniem daje, przynajmniej dla mnie, srednie wrazenie. Spodziewalbym sie wiecej.
