COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned - 150 cl, 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles. Named Grande Réserve in 75 cl bottles, and Magnum Grande Réserve in 150 cl bottles.
Chimay Blue is principally distinguished by its character of a strong beer. This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

There is no perfect beer or ale! But this one is close. A true gift of God made by his servants. Bought a 750ml for about $15. Worth every penny. The Blue is a real treat. Better to leave in the glass a few minutes and let it start to warm a bit to release all of its potential and some of the CO2. Smooth as silk and full mouth feel with a hint of the strong alcohol content. Add this one to your bucket list. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Birthday present, 750 ml bottle. Tulip glass. Cork pops, mist appears. Hazy orange/bronze beer with off-white head and champagne carbonation. Nose of yeast, fruit, malt, dough. Spicy fruity taste, smooth texture. Really easy to drink at 9%! Finish has more fruit and floral notes. Alcohol only becomes noticeable very late on, but not unpleasant. As it warms, more malt is apparent. Classic.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2017 Serveret i Chimay glas. Mørkebrun/sort farve, mellemstor langsomt aftagende skum. Mild duft af gær. Fyldig sød smag med en anelse lakrids. Mellemlang eftersmag med lidt alkohol.

very pleasant and tasty Belgian beer. The sweet aroma of fruits, yeast and light alcohol. In the taste is the same sweetness of fruits, caramel and a nice warming alcohol in the finish.

Dark beer, with lively carbonation. Licorice and sugar , it produces still a strong ’kick’ so that it’s not too sweet. Kinda sultry aftertaste, which is preferable!

Barwa ciemno br?zowa z bordowymi prze?witami. Piana w kolorze z?amanej bieli, ?rednio wysoka i nie trwa?a. Aromat ziemisty z mocnymi nutami palonych ziaren kawy, delikatnie ciemne owoce. W smaku bardzo podobnie, palone ziarna kawy, intensywne nuty ziemiste, przypominaj?ce spalon? ziemi?, marcepan. Calo?? okraszona jest rozgrzewaj?cym alkoholem, szlachetnym alkoholem. Nasycenie ?rednie w kierunku do niskiego.

Bursztynowe, nalało się praktycznie bez piany. W aromacie sporo suszonych owoców, figi, daktyle, ciut moreli. Delikatnie przyprawowe akcenty też się pojawiają. W smaku gładkie, bardzo mocno owocowe, zdecydowanie słodkie.

Bottle. Fosdem. Unpoured. Scent is slightly peppery. Taste is lovely soft cloves on ale. Finish is dry. Great, if a little simple.

Bottle at home from Auchan. Expiry date: 2021. Bottle from 2016. Pours dark amber-reddish brown, big foam, which I like. Tastes like roasted malts, caramel. Sweet and mellow. Medium carbonation. Big and enjoyable. Very good.

Dark golden redish brown, minimal tan head that quickly disappears and no lacing. Chocolate, caramel, sweet fig, yeast & mild spice on the nose. Taste follows. Replete, smooth & balanced. Great brew.
