750ML bottle thanks to Owen for sharing Same issues as the Rum barrel. very subtle character. Better carbonation, as in lower but very subtle barrel character. All the other hallmarks of this beer are there and as opposed to the rum version I thought the barrel stood out more and was drier overall but why mess around with the base beer. Still very good but and would buy again just wanted more barrel

750 ml bottle from John's. Pours a murky brown color with a medium white head. A big spicy fruity nose. Oak, dusty dry, sweet yeasty spicy notes, fruity. Much drier than the regular version. Damn good.

750ml bottle (RBESG2017 Grand Tasting) (7:4:8:4:15=3.8)
Apple-like aroma, woodyish. Similar taste, apple clear, but lovely malts too, It’s super mellow. Has a lightness that almost makes it refreshing. Gentle, yet complex - oh, this is goood. Thanks martjoobolut for bringing this corker!

750 ml. bottle shared & sampled @ RBBSG17. Darker amber brown, red hue, bitter tanned head as expected. Nose is dark fruit, sugar, banana, Chimay Blue dark fruits. Taste is dark fruit, banana, mocha, caramel, sweet, faint Cognac in the finish, as usual with these the barrel is not outspoken enough, caramel,… Thicker dark fruit bodied, caramel, softer carbonation. Good but too expensive really, doesn’t fully seem to be worth it even if a very fine beer.

Sampled @ RBBSG 2017. Hazy dark red to red-brown color, medium sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, oak, cognac indeed in there somewhat, sweetish. Hmm less good -imo- than the 2016/02. Ok beer.

Marduk (8219) - Reval, ESTONIA - AUG 15, 2017
750ml bottle (RBESG Grand Tasting 2017). Clear dark chestnut color. Medium size, yellowish head, stays. Alcohol, raisins, plums, bit of yeast and herbal notes in aroma. Sweet, alcohol, raisins, yeasty in taste. Pleasant mouthfeel despite that alcohol is very present. Yeasty, roast and raisins in aftertaste. Very solid brew.
