COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned - 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles.
Ingredients: Pilsner malt (French barley from Champagne); wheat starch or flour (10% - 15%); dextrose (5%); malt extract (0.1%); hop extract from German Hallertaur (aroma) & American Galena (bittering) hops. Yeast & liquid invert sugar added to the bottled beer.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Crazy thing that I’ve had this on so many occasions and simply always thought "well, obviously I’ve reviewed this one before." Well, there ya go... Pours dark brown with tall light tan head. Aroma of sugar, roasted malt, rye bread, light spices. Taste is sweet and spicy with a lightly peppery finish. Medium bodied, smooth, with average carbonation.

Poured a cloudy pale cola with big coarse white head which would stay until Christmas if I let it. Aroma. Aroma is fruity candy sugar, toffee, with hints of soury yeast creeping through (got me salivating). Taste is... oh Lord (and I’m atheist)... a delightful wall of sweet dark malts enriched by light alcohol flavour. Insanely soft and creamy on palate, yet still with soft yet lively carbonation. Full bodied, with long warming malty finish. If I could afford to I would drink it regularly, gives a nice warming to the belly on a winters day. Shamelessly quaffed it down; too good to savor. Needs to be a larger bottle.

.33l at belgian ardennen brown beer, thick soapy head. Aroma; i can not really make something out of it. Smells medium sweet. Taste is slightly sweeter than its 9% brother. Hints of brown sugar and wood. Palate is thick/sticky. Good beer.

Lekko słabsze w smaku od niebieskiego ale też smaczne. Jak to piwo trapistów odleżawszy w piwnicy kopie niepostrzeżenie. Już kilka łyków uświadamia, że w większej ilości powali słonia. Alkohol ukryty, piwo pijalne i aromatyczne. Oto cała pułapka.

Bottle shared at brussels. Brown big off white head. Nose is... error 404 not found. Taste is low bitterness low sweetness some spicey phenols. Fast finish.
