Bottle Conditioned - 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles.
Ingredients: Pilsner malt (French barley from Champagne); wheat starch or flour (10% - 15%); dextrose (5%); malt extract (0.1%); hop extract from German Hallertaur (aroma) & American Galena (bittering) hops. Yeast & liquid invert sugar added to the bottled beer.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Brązowe, mętne, nalewa się z obfitą pianą. Słodki aromat suszonych owoców, rodzynek karmelu, w tle lekki alkohol i trochę fenoli. W smaku na początku słodkie, pojawiają się nuty świeżych i suszonych owoców, chleb i miód. Alkohol dobrze ukryty. Przyzwoita nudna Belgia.

From 330ml bottle. Pours gorgeous amber-copper with a full pillowy head that eventually fades into a creamy cap. Nose is malt, sugar, dark fruit, lightly funky. Flavors are a delicious, creamy mixture of fruit, toast, caramel, spice. Lightest touch of bitterness comes in on the long finish. Yum. Buying more tomorrow.

Had the 750ml from LCBO, as I was eager to try another legendary beer. Great first impression, gotta love that barley.

Voor mij bijna zelfde smaak als zijn blauwe broertje, maar de blauwe versie heeft meer smaak. Al met al is dit best een lekker relatief licht biertje. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fanni (30) - HUNGARY - MAY 21, 2017
Not very spicy, but a bit sweet, and bitter. It’s a perfect belgian brown beer. The head is big at the beggening, but appears fast. The color cloudy brown.
