Bottle Conditioned - 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles.
Ingredients: Pilsner malt (French barley from Champagne); wheat starch or flour (10% - 15%); dextrose (5%); malt extract (0.1%); hop extract from German Hallertaur (aroma) & American Galena (bittering) hops. Yeast & liquid invert sugar added to the bottled beer.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

red,browish in color with much delicate white foam. taste of roasty caramell and some nice tasty herbs

Aromat: Niestety metaliczny, później trochę owoców. Na koniec trochę chleba, melanoidyn i karmelu. Fenoli chyba nie bardzo. Wątławy
Wygląd: Ciemno czerwone, zmętnione, piana obfita, opada szybko i syczy jak wąż
Smak: Odsyć pusto. Raczej wytrawnie i lekka słodycz. Karmel, trochę fenoli
Odczucie: Wytrawnie, wysokie wysycenie, dosyć gładko
Podsumowanie: No blue chyba lepsze. Bardziej złozone tutaj trochę pusto. Chociaż niby wszystko jest, ale strasznie też stłumione przez to ogromne wysycenie

An 11.2 oz. bottle poured to a Chimay chalice at Ellyn’s Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn, IL., displaying a dark brown hue, with a bit of ruby highlighting, a decent layer of off white froth, and dots & dashes of foamy lacing. The nose was subtly floral, light preserves sweetness, dark cherry & plum, with some mellowing malt, spice, and a hint of vanilla. Medium+ bodied, with lively effervescence, the taste was similar notes, continued, expressive esters, decent malt, complementary strength to the alcohol, modest, earthy bitterness, and slight dryness to the finish. Textbook!

330ml bottle pours deep red-brown with a generous silky beige head. Aromas of toffee nuts, dried fruit, yeast and barley sugars. I’ve had Chimay Red many times but the flavours of pecans, caramel malt, honey, brown sugar, dates and spices still make this beer unique and memorable. The creamy texture and fine carbonation add a something special to the traditional abbey dubbel. Definitely my favourite of the Chimay range. Looking forward to the next one.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2017 piana ok. zapach słaby. Coś tam się starają się fenole przebić ale kiepsko im idzie. smak karmelowo zbożowy nie powala. i trochę za wysokie nasycenie. ale za to alkohol idealnie ukryty.

Poured from the tap into a chimay chalice at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA. The appearance is a slight brown color with a large white head. The aroma is full of malt and cloves. The taste is malt driven with fruit and yeast blended in. An outstanding beer.

Rating datant du 20 janvier 2016. Petite bouteille de 330 ml acheté à la SAQ. Bière assez foncée accompagnée d’un collet de mousse blanche. Arômes de caramel brûlé prennent le devant dans ce qui demeure un classique du genre.

Bottle from Smak Piwa. Beer served in Goblet Glass. Pours dark ruby brown. Small, great looking head. Aroma is dark fruits, floral, herbal, slightly spicy, plums, pear. Taste is fruity marmalade, cherry juice, roasted malts, caramel, plummy.

Crazy thing that I’ve had this on so many occasions and simply always thought "well, obviously I’ve reviewed this one before." Well, there ya go... Pours dark brown with tall light tan head. Aroma of sugar, roasted malt, rye bread, light spices. Taste is sweet and spicy with a lightly peppery finish. Medium bodied, smooth, with average carbonation.

Barwy brunatnej. Ładna gęska piana. Aromat suszonych owoców, karmelu. W smaku podobnie jak w aromacie. Goryczka niska. Pijalne.
