COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chimay Tripel, with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer’s flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz (beer-pages.com/protz/features/chimay.htm) and John White (www.whitebeertravels.co.uk/chimay.html)

dark hazy blonde with fluffy white head that holds well down the glass and fine cappucino yeast sprinkling. Rich Belgian ester nose, fairly dry with "fluffy" mouth filling texture, medium carbonation, some malt sweetness and spicy wheat notes. Warming but far too easy drinking for its ABV, a great tripel.

From bottle in Belgian ale glass. Pours hazy almond with big, billowing, bottle-conditioned head that was tough to control. Aroma of raisin bread with a bit of sweetness in the finish blended with a soft touch of bitterness.

Bottle at home on 21st January 2017, from Bruxelles Midi. Pours hazy amber with thick off-white foam. Yeasty, pungent aroma. Spicy and fruity in-mouth, with some bitterness in the finish. Engaging texture and full body.

W aromacie intensywnie słody i fenole, delikatnie białe owoce, susz daktyli, guma balonowa, w tle pszenica. W smaku przyprawy, czerwony pieprz, gałka, słody, dość intensywna lekko agresywna goryczka chmielu. Balans na posmaki drożdżowe. W odczuciu wytrawne, alkohol dość dobrze ukryty. Solidny tripel z odważnym nachmieleniem.

Pours a nice golden color with a thin head. The aroma is yeast, some earthy notes, and floral. Flavor is more of the same.

0,33l bottle. Hazy deep golden colour with ever lasting white head. Aroma: Very floral (acacia), with leather, basement notes. Taste: Has a very sweet fruity malty start, with lots of floral tones and has a very gentle but fresh hoppy/bitter mouthfeel. Very tasty...has a fruity, fresh hoppy feel, like an IPA but with the yeasty, floral feel of a good blegian tripel. Medium body with soft carbonation. Long softly bitter finish. One great tripel for sure.

Orange blond, white head. Exellent triple with a big pallet of notes. Fruits, lemmon, pines, bitters, yeast, malt. Very well balanced.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2018 33cl bottle from France, summer 2017. Pours orange/brown, murky with huge fluffy, foamy white head that lasts, lots of lacing with foam clinging and sticking to glass. Taste is spicy, apricot fruit, pepper, yeast, alcohol depth but no hint of the 8%ABV - very easy drinking. Superb beer.
