3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma of pears/fruit. Unexpected bitter taste with mild fruits but mostly a malty Hoppy presence. The odd Chimay out.
Pours orange from the bottle with a foamy, towering white head that lingers. Aroma is yeasty with a bit of spice and wet rag. Taste is mildly bitter, full of clove and nutmeg. Quite dry .. almost too dry. A touch of sugar in the aftertaste.. Carbonation is prickly and stable. Overall, quite nice if no longer exceptional, but my least favorite of the 3 Chimay brews. barry_batser (20) - Hoensbroek, NETHERLANDS - FEB 13, 2018

0,33 l bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow with big frothy white head. Aroma of malt, yeast, fruity (apricot), floral honey and spicy hop notes. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium, texture creamy and carbonation on the lively side. Finish is long, herbal bitterness takes time to develop and lasts for a while. Very complex and drinkable.

Yeasty sharp and flowery. Some raisens and date profile as well. Lots of clove.Shows its stength well. Lovely texture. Not a bad beer at all but prefer my triples to be a bit more easy going and zesty. ANZUShophunter (721) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 21, 2018
From bottle in Belgian ale glass. Pours hazy almond with big, billowing, bottle-conditioned head that was tough to control. Aroma of raisin bread with a bit of sweetness in the finish blended with a soft touch of bitterness. ladnewton (2092) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 20, 2018
