Bottle. Pours near black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has light dark grains with a bit of chocolate and some light pine coming through in the finish. Flavor has some earthy pine with a bit of grass with some dark grains underlying. OKplus (788) - Oklahoma, USA - JUN 20, 2013
12oz bottle served in a Sam Adams perfect pint glass.
A - Pours almost completely opaque with dark brown edges. The head is light tan and thick with good retention and forms deep craters. Some sticky lacing left around the upper portion of the glass.
S - Roasted charred malts, roasted coffee beans, heavily hopped aroma, pine needles, grapefruit oils, notes of yeasty bread and caramel come out as it warms.
T - Matches the nose with roast upfront but there’s a very balanced sweetness to go along with it. A mix of pine, grapefruit pith, and a grassy herbs. The finish has some aspirin bitterness to it.
M - Cola-like carbonation but smoother. Heavy side of medium but the carbonation lifts it making it lighter.
I might have been really thirsty but this went down quick. Has a good balance of roast, bitter, and sweet. Solid all around and comes in a 6 pack which is always a plus.

Dark brown color with tan head. Nice hoppy flora, pine aromas with caramel, black malts. medium body, average carbonation. Floral, pine sap flavors with dark chocolate, dry black malts, caramel---drying finish--good jake65 (4000) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Bottle from soonerchamps, thanks! Pours a very dark brown color with an inch of creamy brown head. Nice bits of lacing too. I love the aroma; sticky pine resin, citrus, and heavy roast. Fits the style perfectly and translates well into the flavor. Creamy body. A good amount of roast and dark chocolate compliments the piney and citrus hops. Impressive, this was really quite fine.

12 oz bottle from Beerhandy. Nose is a little chocolate and roast and a hint of resin. Black with a big, heavy lacing tan head. Flavor is bitter with a stout’s malt backbone. Actually really good! Tastes like a hoppy stout! constablerc (4) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 2, 2013 does not count
Decent enough. Initial flavor is tough to sort out. Slight hint of chocolate or anise on the after taste, which hits very late. I'd rather just have their regular OPA.
