Pours a beautiful, deep amber with a head of white that leaves intricate lacing around the glass. Aroma is bit off, with a weird hint of tangerine nut wine- or something like that. Old-tasting blend of musty air, wood, and old bourbon with Sprite. Average mouthfeel. Not bad, but I don’t think I’ll drink more of this.
Pours a medium amber color with a finger of foam. Lots of fruity esters, round malt presence and a solid yeast profile. Simple yet well balanced and easy to drink. Good representation of the style ! keepersj12 (3117) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - JAN 24, 2012
Much better than my first experience with this brewer (Belgian Quad) but not by much. Pours a murky brown with a soda pop head, foamy then gone. The aroma was some fruit and a bit of caramel. No funk or sourness in the nose or taste. Taste was soda sweet with the same carbonation. This will be my last from this brewer. SphinxTX (2875) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - JAN 22, 2009
Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours a pinkish color with white fizzy head. Aroma of citrus, apples. Flavor has a little sweetness, faint fruit, and some malt. Light body, fizzy carbonation. It’s ok. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - DEC 1, 2007
(Bottle) Pours an even amber color with a small beige head. Spicy and malty aroma. Taste includes some muted spice, as well as lots of malts. Notes of pepper, candy sugar and rich caramel malts. Good palate, with low carbonation. Balanced for the most part, but gets a little sweet in the aftertaste. A great beer!

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours a burnt orange color with a tiny head and a bit of lacing. Nose is apple juice, honey, caramel, and must. Taste is caramel, copper or metal, and some mineral. Mouthfeel is cold and firm and the finish length is on the short side. Rosebud butternuts (2396) - Denton, Texas, USA - JAN 27, 2009
bottle picked up a cache road discount liqour in lawton, ok. poured a cloudy amber with a white head. aroma of berries, sour apple, and some tartness. flavor was tart and sour. this was my first biere de garde and not real sure about the style just yet. 750 mL bottle. Dark, orange-brown, hazy pour, with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma is anise, apricots, sourdough bread, coriander, and slight apples and caramel. Fairly dry, malty, and lightly spicy. Medium body, a little syrupy, creamy, and slightly acidic. Overall, this is a very interesting, flavorful beer. Darker, thicker, and more flavorful than I expected. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - MAR 13, 2008
Bomber. Pours clear dark amber with an off-white head. Light body and carbonation. Clean, light toffee and hay taste. Crisp, refreshing and lightly lemony finish. A tip of the hat to Krebs, OK! yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - APR 14, 2009
Bottle. Slightly cloudy with a fluffy cheesy head. Aroma is earthy and sweet. Taste is rice and caramel malts with some bread and sweetness. Light brown sugar. Creamy and just ok for me.
