COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The German city of Leipzig is home to one of the world’s most unusual styles: Gose (pronounced "goes-ah"), a tart wheat brew. Despite a centuries old lineage, this eclectic brew recently faced extinction. We pay tribute to this style’s rich history by using premium German pilsner malt, wheat, a dash of coriander and salt. The sourness and dry finish are the perfect treat on a hot summer day. Cheers, Michael Lalli

Hermod (8062) - Vantaa, FINLAND - OCT 1, 2012
15cl sample from bottle @SBWF12. Poured hazy, unclear apple juice looking with a thin, creamy white head. Aroma is tart, sour yogurt and light spicy. Flavor has yogurt, fresh orange juice, more tartness towards finish. Very dry, salty. Interesting, crisp and quite refreshing.

Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 7, 2013
750mL bottle. Poured clear medium golden with a short-lived, looser-bubbled white head. The aroma picked up a whole lot of sourness, with wheat, oak, lime, and salt present..about what I expected. The flavor was sour throughout, with salty limes and wheat leading.. coriander surrounded.. very dry and tangy on the finish.. this struck me as a bit too metallic, which detracted from my enjoyment. Light-medium bodied with moderate-plus sourness on the palate.. slick feel with lower carbonation.. OK feel.

Bottle shared at tasting, pours clearish golden with light head, not lasting. Lemons, salt, wood, wheat and yeast dominate the smell and taste. Light to medium body. Salty and tart.

Bottle. Yellow hazy. Funk, sourdough, yogurt, orange peel. A bit of coriander, barnyard. The body is a bit funky, tastes a bit like freshly squeezed oranges (with pulp). Really nice drink.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 11/16/11

Aroma: The nose is a little tart, some citrus, a hint of funk, and just a little bit of spice
Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy golden-orange color with a clean looking, foamy white head
Flavor: Tastes quite a bit more sour then the nose would indicate, citrus/lemon, lightly sweet, and salty too
Palate: This one is medium bodied, its a touch watery, and it finishes with a salty tingle on the tongue
Overall Impression: This was an interesting beer. It’s like a much better version of Miller Chill! (I kid, I kid) Sorry, that was mean, it doesn’t really taste anything like Miller Chill, but it is a combination effort of a sour citrus fruit (lemons in this case) and salt, so it has that part in common. I’ll stop with the poor attempt to be funny and just say this: I liked this one, it is rather sour, and a touch salty, but the combination seems to work. It is a touch watery on the mouth, but otherwise has a pretty decent feel. The head has a nice, thick foam on top of it, that looks a little cleaner then the heads of most beers. I’d drink it again, but it isn’t something I’d want to drink in this kind of quantity again anytime soon. A 750 ml bottle of this one is probably better for sharing.
