Bottle at cgarvieuk’s Danish Invasion extravaganza. Deep brown/black pour, thin tan head. Nice smooth smokey nose, bitter chocolate, hint of oaky spice. Nice bittersweet chocolate front, roasted malt, nice subtle smoked character, not particularly meaty, slight savoury character with a tiny hint of booze on a long fruity finish. Not bad. cgarvieuk (24499) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 22, 2012

22 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown in color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma has a big smoky quality at the outset, some peat, chocolate, dark malts and ash. The flavor is again smoky, with peat, mild chocolate, dark malts and ash. Maybe a touch thin in the body, but smooth and easy to drink. This was a surprise and a welcome one at that. burg326 (5482) - Florida, USA - MAR 17, 2012

Aroma: The nose is big on smoked meat and roasted malts, with hints of chocolate as well
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color, orange hue, and a creamy light brown head and heavy lace
Flavor: The taste is mostly smokey as well, it has hints of sweetness and minimal bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-full, it is smooth on the mouth, with a soft carbonation, and a smokey finish
I thought this was a pretty interesting beer. I’m not the biggest fan of this style in the world, but I still found this one enjoyable. It drinks surprisingly easily for the style as well. An interesting one, for sure.
Just submitted a photo of this one as well.

(bottle - 22 oz) Dark brown pour with a dust colored head. Aroma is raw and powerful smoke with a very light roasted character underneath it. Big charcoal and bacon flavors. The taste is best summed up as liquid campfire. Huge smoke and carbon flavor with a roasty and meaty finish. Leaves a wonderfully smoky aftertaste.
