India Pale Ale, a style created in England, has been wholly adopted and reimagined by American brewers. We use a unique mix of premium base and hone malt to which we add the star ingredient, American grown hops. The hops create an assertive yet balanced flavor highlighted by citrus and floral tones.

Growler fill at City Vinyard. Pours a yellow orange color with a small white head. Nose is very floral and piney, taste is the same with a strong hoppy bitter finish. A little dry on the end. Not much going on here, mostly grassy pine and bitterness.

12 oz pour from a 45 degree bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Dark yellow, a little hazy. Great carbonation, gigantic fluffy white long-lasting head. Like drinking through a cloud. Nose is tropical fruit and citrus. Smells awesome. Mouthfeel is great as well-- the prefect balance of creamy, dry, and carbonated. The taste, too, is delicious. Tropical fruit, citrus, a little pine. Great hops taste. This might just be the perfect setting, but this is one of the best IPAs I?ve had. Good job Choc.

Rated from notes taken 29 Jul 2011 -- Decent, although unremarkable IPA. Sessionable and enjoyable while doing it.

Great retention and medium lacing. Smells of lemon, herbal and pine. Tastes of sweet dry malt, apricots and grapefruit. Semi-bitterness aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft - Fresh sweet grapefruit. Clear gold with a rich white head. Bitter tropical fruit hops, that finishes very dry. Bitterness is a bit overwhelming.

Several pints on tap. Hazy golden with a lasting film of cream. Nose is caramel, floral hop, resin and light citrus. Tastes of spicy resin, floral and citrus hops with a nice dose of caramel and honeycomb. Light medium body is soft and has a smooth medium carbonation. Nice balance makes this one dangerously drinkable.

On tap at Tapwerks! Pours a near clear golden amber with a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has a combination of pine and grapefruit with a bit of sweet citrus and light grains. Flavor is similar with more sweet citrus coming through but bitter pine and grapefruit underlying.

A - Pours a cloudy burnt orange with a 2.5 finger foamy head. Sticky lacing patterns, big and small. S - Fresh cut pine needles, juicy grapefruit oil citrus, floral honeysuckle. Very green and pungent hop aromas. T - Clean grapefruit, mandarin, and mango mixes with a soft floral bouquet. Bitter pine comes in strong and sticks to the sides of the tongue. Sweet pale and malt layers underneath the full flavored hops. Has a some tart strawberries along with a green apple-like acidity. A honeysuckle sweetness starts in the middle and stays through the bitter finish. Dry on the aftertaste M - Smooth and lush feel. Moderate carbonation. Awesome nose! Loads of fresh hop flavor. Citrus, pine, floral, and tropical. It was very surprised by this one. A little light in the malt category but I didn’t mind. Serving type: bottle 02-19-2011

Pours a pretty orange with moderate white head. Fresh, grassy aroma. Very hoppy and bitter; the ABV is well-hidden. I get a distinct apricot flavor toward the finish. Easily my favorite offering from Choc. I wish it was offered year-round.

On tap at The Flying Saucer in Little Rock. Pours a lightly hazed, golden-orange colored body with a finger-width, frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma has a light orange citrus pine with a bit of a tropical fruit floral hopping. Lightly sweetened pale malts with a light bready caramel. Flavor is similar. Orange and grapefruit up front with a light line resin as well as a few florals. Light caramel and breadiness in the middle to balance before this finishes dry with a medium-light bitterness, a few resins and florals, and a light sweetness. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent IPA. Nothing special, but some citrus florals and light pines with a balanced bready caramel.
