CHOUFFE BOK 6666 is a seasonal beer brewed especially for the Netherlands. The "Bok" beers traditionally appear on the Dutch market at the end of September. CHOUFFE BOK 6666 stands out thanks to its coppery robe, its fresh, fruity nose and a pleasant roundness in the mouth, ending with a hint of bitterness.

Bottle. Color: Clear dark reddisg brown. Dense off white to beige head. Taste: Ripe red fruits, medium sweet dark malt, bit yeasty, hints of brown sugar, cloves, spices. Medium carbonation.

PeatyPete (1104) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 11, 2016
Chestnut brown colour with beige a bit yellowish head. Aroma is malty, spicy and Belgian yeast (banana). Taste is soft en spicy and when the beer is cold, a lot of the subtle notes are hidden and the taste is then a bit watery.

jbruner (5002) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - OCT 11, 2016
Pours a deep clear amber on tap with thick fluffy tan head that leaves good lace. Aroma of sweet dark maltiness and mild fruity yeast. Taste follows, hints of dark burnt sugar and light yeast. Solid bock.

R4N5H (1267) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 9, 2016
33cl bottle poured into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass on 09-Oct-2016. Dark brown with a medium sized tan coloured head which dissipates quickly. Aroma of dark fruit, malt, banana, spices and Belgian yeast. Medium body and carbonation. Sweet taste of caramel, wheat, banana, cinnamon and plum. Light bitterness. A sweet tart finish. There are better Bokbiers out there - this one is a little too sweet and tart for my palate.

Cerbier (825) - - OCT 8, 2016
0,33l Flasche. Dunkelbraunes Bier mit schöner beiger Schaumkrone. Geruch nach reifen Früchten, schmeckt malzig, fruchtig und leicht nussig.

33 cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured clear reddish brown with a two finger light tan head. aroma: caramel, wet earth, vanilla, milk chocolate. Taste: caramel, roasted malts, vanilla, nuts, spice, Belgian yeast, bread. Very watery. Not much going on here. Light body with a malty sweet finish. Not the best Chouffe or bok that I had.

Gangstergafje (1184) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - APR 7, 2016
The beer has a nice bok beer look. The beer pours a thick layer of fluffy almond colored foam. The majority of the foam collapses over time, but a rather thick layer of soft creamy foam remains on top of the beer. The beer has a nice brown color. I can’t see the color of clarity very good, because I’ve poured the beer in a stone La Chouffe cup. The smell of the beer is very nice. The smell has a delicious typical bok aroma. It is both sweet and bitter. I smell a delicious combination of roasted barley, some licorice, caramel and toffee. The bitterness of the roast and licorice is in good balance with the caramel sweetness. Combine this with a minimal sour touch of the licorice and you have wow. The beer also had a good load of alcohol. This gives the beer that typical warming sensation a good bock beer should have. The taste has many aspects of the smell. It is slightly less strong though. There is the little roast and sweet caramel and toffee. The licorice is almost not tastable. The mouth sensation, and than especially the aftertaste, is a bit dry. This is a bit disappointing. The taste and mouth feeling don’t comply with the smell. Besides that, a very nice beer.
