COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

On tap @ The Perch in LA. Aroma of coriander, citrus and bread. Light golden color with a thin foam. Strong hops, bread and citrus on the palate. Some masked grapefruit on in the back. Overall, this is a well done tripel ipa with smooth flavor. A- rating..

Bright golden color, immaculate, with a white half-crown, from which comes a surprisingly faint perfume. In the aroma, high relevance of hops, on a sweet base of cereals and bread that brings remarkable notes of citrus, white grapes and grass, seasoned with a puff of clove and white pepper. The drink in the first moment floods the mouth with the sweet and creamy texture of a Belgian ale, starring malt, golden apple and lemon, and leaving in the background soft honey and minimal yeast, to end with the aggressiveness of hops, Accentuating the presence of citrus fruits like lemon and grapefruit, pineapple and sharp notes of grass and pine, quite spicy, along a bitterness acid, rough and with a considerable alcoholic load.

Pours hazy orange from the bottle and leaves a foamy, towering head. The aroma is Weizen, honey melon, and a whiff of pine. Lots of sticky lacing clings to the bottle. Overall a very pleasant start. The taste seems traditional Belgian more than American IPA, there’s a strong bready/yeasty tone, bubble gum, and noticeable clove. A hops bitterness becomes more pronounced during the finish and leaves behind a light tropical twang. Finishes with noticeable alcohol warmth. Palate is marred by light watery notes. A very good effort.

Goede tripel/IPA. Mooi goudkleurig, schuimkraag die lang blijft. Mij iets te ’scherp’, verder gewoon lekker.

Bought from drankdozijn in a 750ml bottle. Appearance: light golden and quite fuzzy with a nice firm white head. Smell: hops, citrus fruits and light malts. Taste: typical IPA hop taste, but more full body. A bit sweet and sticky on the tongue. Well balanced hops with long after taste. The alcohol well hidden. Maybe a bit too high carbonation. Otherwise very nice.

From bottle. Pours golden hazy with fine white foam. Aroma of mostly herbaceous, with honey coming up when warmer. Body is medium. Taste is very bitter. The label tells of a strong malt base, which to me should have been stronger. Palate is relatively dry, with some bitterness sticking around a little longer.
