A light tasting beer, good for a hot day, bitter after taste but not too bitter, a bit blossomy, smell is okay but doesn’t make me excited to start drinking it

Bottle in Konishi gift set. Pours a bright yellow gold, big creamy white head with lots of lacing. Good aroma of yeast, lemon, biscuit, hay. Sweet lemon drop flavour with honey, spice, prominent yeast notes with a little funk. Lingering oily sweetness and plenty of spice over a light-medium body. Good start of summer beer.

330ml bottle bought at Gorgeous Wine & Cigar in Yuen Long.

Looks: Clear light blonde colour with a thin layer of dirt-like yeast sediments; Three-quarter finger head with soapy white foam which last for 1 minute; Excellent sticky lacing with fizzy small carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet malt, with strong orange, vanilla, banana, citrus soda, phenolic, floral, sugar, cloves, spices, strong Bel yeast, bread, lemon peels and light grass.

Taste: Close to medium sweet malt, with orangey ester, floral, fair molasses, spices, light herbs, biscuits, Bel yeast, lemon, medium bitter hops and grass.

Body: Medium body. Slick and gooey palate.

Mouth Feel: Fairly good Pils maltyness in a solid background. Very thick and gelatin-like probably from the rye. Distinct fruity ester, flowery with fair sweetness. Bel yeasty, dry spicy with herbal hoppy lemon to round. Exciting!

Hoppiness: Citrus soda, floral, sugar, lemon peels and light grass in nose. Floral, light herbs, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is quite strong for a lasting, mid to high astringent sweet-bitter malty finish.

After taste: Quite dry. Spicy herbal and quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one got the feel of a Belgian Saison, with powerful fruity aroma, rye-induced dry spicy taste, and a strong citrusy hoppiness. Its Bel yeast is pulling all the right strings and despite its somewhat gooey mouth feel. It’s feel and taste like a nice strong Saison for the Summer. Recommended!

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2017 (Tap) Mooie fijne schuimkraag troubel geel bier. Defintly fris bier beetje frisse zurige nasmaak.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow/gold. Nice head. Aroma is floral, lemons and bitter hops. Taste is bitter, bready, spicy and sour. Ripe citrus fruits, wheat and rye. Belgian yeast. Refreshing. Dry and heavy finish. Medium carbonation. A beer with an attitude for hot summer days. Will definitely have again.
