Bottle, 5cl sample @Beershoppen, Kolding. Pours deep opaque black with a small, creamy, beige film head. Aroma has lots of fresh ground coffee, chocolate, light vinious, hazelnuts, vanilla, soft oak. Low carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has sticky sweetness, chocolate, firm coffee bitterness. Quite a bit of vanilla and oak. A bit too sweet actually. mmiv (5) - poz, POLAND - JAN 11, 2018 does not count

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2017 2016 vintage batch 3 in a 500 ml bottle. Appearance is viscous dark black with a thin layer of tan froth which dissipates quickly and cannot be revive despite all the swirling in the world. Aromas are complex, dark rich chocolates surface first, followed by dried dark fruit, and the the roasted malts and coffee. Tastewise, ageing this in barrels seems to have taken the edge off the spices in the original, and replaced them with the bourbon booziness, and sweet dark dried fruit like prunes and cherries. The rich sweet chocolate, coffee and roasted malt flavours are still distinct in the mix. Very smooth, oily and slick mouthfeel and very full bodied.
