Pear is a fruit of patience! A pear tree needs 50 years to reach its maturity but will live for more than 200 years. This unique blend of Plant de Blanc, Muscadet, Tricotin, Avenelle and Poire de Grise varieties gives our Poire its typical balance. A delicate marriage between crisp acidity and discreet sweetness.
Its typical lightness and elegance make Poire a traditional drink in Normandy. Its fine bubbles are naturally produced in the bottle. Poire is both refreshing and festive. You will enjoy Poire served chilled in a champagne flute, as an aperitif. It also goes beautifully with shellfish, salads, steamed fish, goat cheese or fruits sorbet.

Christian Drouin shows again how to make the best cider. But the "real" one from apples is still the best.

75 cl bottle. Corked popped off. Big fizz, pale gold, dry nose of pears, apples, mi erals, crqckers, herbs. Highly carbonated. Subtle fruity flavor, light acid, quite tannic, a bit of sweet stewed pears. Nice full body. Champagne like carbonation is intense. Flavor comes through better once it dies down a little. Simple but elegant.

Tap @ the Birch - pours clear gold, tiny tiny bubbles. The pear is very present. Unlike many of the perries that I have had that come off watery and thin, this one is sweet and almost syrupy in the finish. Nice!!

Keg at Lost Valley. Clear vibrant golden. Aroma of dry pear, pepper, honey. Taste is sweet juicy pear, earth, pepper, honey. Medium bodied.

Pours crystal clear with a light coppery-gold coloration - no head. Aroma is a mild, almost apple, cidery aroma. Taste is initially mild and semi-sweet with pear skin sneaking in for the mid. There’s a little acidic flavor for the finish before it washes away. As this is my first perry, I’m not real sure what to expect entirely. Regardless, this is refreshing and elegant - it would probably pair well with Sinatra.

Golden with teensy head. Nice faint weed aroma (ok perhaps that’s citrus). Flavor is pearlike. Buttery mouthfeel with a lightly dry finish.

Refrigerated 75 cl green bottle poured into s glass. The cork hit the ceiling and perry gushed out onto the counter with my glass right beside the bottle and ready. Aroma is dry pear, medium soft body, extreme carbonation, and very little lacing. Taste is pear and mineral water. This is one of the best Perrys I have had. I bet this would make a great mimosa.

Pour on tap at Town Hall, slightly hazy whitish yellow pour with white head, aroma brought notes of pear, peach, apricot, some sweet vanilla, touch of spice as well. Taste was mainly pear, more vanilla, sweet fruity notes with a hint of spicy earth, finishing sweet.

Kinda sour, not much in the way of sweetness. In fact, except for the sour, I’m not getting really any taste at all.

750ml bottle. Pale yellow golden colour, short-lived bubbly white foam head and aroma of pear, fruity, sourish with funk & vinegar notes. Taste is sweet pear, syrupy & fruity, with some hay, apple, wood, barnyard and dry slightly tannic notes. Spritzy mouthfeel, light bodied, high carbonation, drying tart finish. Refreshing, nicely drinkable.

Crystal clear very light golden--nearly hueless. Nice aroma of fresh green pear and a little green apple tones on the nose. Slightly sour green pear and green apple flavor with a touch of green fruit pucker and some fresh pear flesh tones. Pretty sour pear-y.
