Bottled. Hardly any head, sweet but at the same time quite yeasty. My first Bok of the season but probably not the best one (at least I hope so).

2 liter bottle, shares at/by Joes, 10 years or so past best before date. Brown color, beige head. Aroma’s: sweet, port, dried fruit, also slightly herbal retronasal. Falvor is sweet, sweet fruit, caramel, a bit perfumy. Medium bodied. Aged pretty well.

Zlotta (3422) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - JAN 7, 2017
0.33 l bottle from AH (Sittard), best before September 2018. Clear, very dark reddish brown with a medium large, dense, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of caramel, chocolate and nuts. Rather sweet, malty, slightly roasty taste of chocolate, caramel, nuts and some coffee, followed by a short moderately roasty-bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

Un-Muzzling Olde Muzzlehatch Ratings, #37. 330 ml bottle purchased somewhere in Ontario (July 2008), and consumed somewhere in Wisconsin (August 2009), possibly from a Christoffel glass. Very dense caramel-maple body, smallish tan head lasts throughout the imbibing, some lacing....nose is full-on caramel at first, a little licorice arrives eventually...body is thickly malty, no hops noticeable, with a light burnt bitterness to finish...unfortunately a bit of soapiness emerges towards the finish, which helps to keep this from coming anywhere close to the greatness of the pilsener...velvety-soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Would certainly like to try this (or any Christoffel) again, will have to check availability!

HOME 20160703 (33 cl bottle; bbf 07.09.17, by the Proefbrouwerij): A brilliant red-brown coloured bier with a good, perfect brown foam layer. The aroma is from dark cara-malt which give the beer a sweet caramel, malt bitter, somewhat chocolate, cherry and nuts smell. A sweet taste (somewhat to much) of caramel, chocolate, liquor, raisins, cherries and raisins. A malty bitterness in the aftertaste. Also a warm alcoholic feeling. The beer becomes sticky with a light malt bitter dryness which give the beer not the really aftertaste, what you will expect.

Really nice and warming with some coffee, caramel, sweets and chocolate in the aroma. Oh yeah, beside some nuts. Easy to drink, quaffy and making you just feel good after a long and busy day. To recommend.
