On tap at Chuckanut, pours a deep dark mahogany with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out toasted chestnuts, some vegetal notes, bready malt and dry dark fruits. Flavour is fairly sweet and very malt-heavy, with caramel, dark fruits and vegetal notes. Authentic and well-constructed for the style. Solid. luttonm (6661) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 13, 2016
Chuckanut, Bellingham. Creamy, yellow-tan foam on bright red-highlighted brown. Looks rich. Sweet wort. Rich, very dark molasses caramel. Rich, smooth sip, alc sharpness cuts the sweet, heavy malt. Pretty solid. ippopotamo36 (2497) - Rome, ITALY - MAY 8, 2016

Deep red and a thick foam that leaves a nice lace around the glass. Malty aroma leads into a medium body. There is a nice heavy toast flavor and a hint of smoke. Finish is bitter for the style and a little off balance. Still one of the better beers here. fiulijn (21019) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 8, 2013

2013-01-14, draught at the brewpub, 7% ABV, 6-5-7-3-14=35
Beautiful amber color, with medium sized creamy head. Mild aroma of malt, with a sweetish impression. Good malt flavor, with very moderate sweetness, round mouthfeel, correct bitterness.
Very clean, true Bock.

Amber color, with small creamy head. Mild malt aroma, some straws. Good body strength; some malt flavor, light caramel, moderate sweetness, and low bitterness; there is a light trace of Lager yeast fruitiness.
Nice, but not exciting; Chuckanut does better.
As part of a sampler tray during my visit to Bellingham. Attractive orange copper color with a fine and fleeting white head. Bright and crisp, not shy and subtle like other of the style. A bite at the end but not because of hops. A touch cidery. Interesting sand unexpected

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Fiery amber, strong carbonation, large frothy white head, nice lacing.
Mealy nose, bready, slight fusels (very minor).   Smells like a hefty Blonde Bock.   Semi sweet up front,
bready, certainly in the bock sense.   Clean on the backside, slight sweet grassiness.   Good malt base
overall.   Really enjoyable.   Smidgen of apple or pear skin too.   Interesting beer.   Would have
again for sure. Oakes (18594) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 3, 2010
Medium chestnut colour. Light but toast-accented aroma. Very earthy, caramelly, toasty with accents of nuts. Still a bit thin, like many of their other lagers. Needs oomph. carruthm (1401) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 23, 2010
