Draught @ Brouwer’s Café: Fiery amber, strong carbonation, large frothy white head, nice lacing. Mealy nose, bready, slight fusels (very minor). Smells like a hefty Blonde Bock. Semi sweet up front, bready, certainly in the bock sense. Clean on the backside, slight sweet grassiness. Good malt base overall. Really enjoyable. Smidgen of apple or pear skin too. Draft at Chuckanut. Didn’t seem to have the ABV it was listed as; mostly caramely malts with a hint of hoppiness. Kind of bland, as were the other brews at this place. Nothing bad, but simply forgettable. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JAN 9, 2010
draft at the brewery. pours a slightly hazy dark copper with a loose but creamy off white head. lots of sheeting lace. mild nose of dates, figs, and walnuts. maybe some molasses. creamy medium body. tosst, dates, figs, and nuts on the mid palate. mild finish. very much a british holiday fruit scone...fruity flavors, but toned way down and more like a baked good in overall profile.
