COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the mid 1800’s the Viennese had something new to brew as lighter styles of beer were popping up all over Europe. They created what is now know as Vienna malt, the amber malt was stewed after the barley was sprouted, this converted some of the malt starches into sugars, which were then caramelized by a gentle roasting. Our Vienna Lager is brewed with half Vienna malts creating a delicate malt aroma with a slightly caramelized and toasted malt character. Light Bronze in color with a slight bitterness, this beer finishes clean and crisp! Original Gravity 12.5 Plato. ABV 5%. IBU’s 25

Draught at CBB. Nice caramel malt nose, rich and thick. Very malty flavor of sweet caramel. Soft, full mouth. Fruity, with cherries. A tasty beer with great malt, though a bit one-dimensional.

Light copper color. Nice frothy white head. Very clean malty nose with notes of mineral and bread. Very nice clean malty mouth with bread and caramel. Light body, light to moderate amounts if bitterness. Very well executed. Nice bready hoppy finish. Beautifully crafted.

Draught at the brewpub
Amber color, hazy. Nice malt aroma, with some cereals. Smooth and lean mouthfeel; some malt, honey and cereals. Correct bitterness. Overall, it’s easy but elegant.
Not really a Vienna, but still a good showcase for German malts.

As part of a sampler tray during my visit to Bellingham. Golden clear witha huge fluffy sandy colored head. Light bready aroma and a slightly sweet grain flavor. the hops come through a bit more than I expected and the full maltiness is not quite what I was expecting. Nice and tasty, attenuated nicely and lingering slightly woody tang at the end. Maybe a bit hoppy and bitter for the style.

Sampled at 10/12/2012 at GABF. This Vienna Lager pours a light gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied Vienna Lager. The malts are fruity, caramel and sweet. The hops are earthy and spicy. Clean and smooth tasting. Nice balance. Nice slightly sweet malts throughout. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours clear amber/orange with minimal head. Smell is malty, lagerish. Taste is dry and slightly bitter. Interesting.

GABF 2011 Media Luncheon. Clear amber in color without a lasting head. Nice toffee aroma, with a slight herbal hop tone, and mostly biscuit overall. Flavor was off-sweet with a mild touch of hop bitterness. Mostly toffee with some floral and herbal hoppiness. Mild burnt notes, and typically light-medium body for the style. Decent.

Draft at the Old Town. Pours an absolutely crystal clear medium amber with a beautiful dense creamy tan head. No lacing, and the head falls away after a few swigs, but it’s picture-perfect while it lasts. Toasty brown bread nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toasty brown bread mid-palate with caramel blended in artfully. Mild malty finish. Flavorful and refreshing.

riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - NOV 7, 2010
Toasty doughy and earthy nose. Pours golden with a thin head. The flavor is nice and toasty with hints of dough, light carmelized flavors as well with a hint of earthy bitterness in the finish. Clean and crisp and very well done.

Draft at Chuckanut. Deep mahogany body with little head. Mostly doughy malts with a slight hoppiness. Meh.
