3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Poured ruby brown with a medium-sized tan head. Aroma and flavor were lots of roasted malt, light chocolate and coffee, earthy hops. Medium mouthfeel. Nicely done. One of the better beers sampled in one evening at Church Brew.
A very tasty stout that I tried for the first time on my first trip to Pittsburgh back in 2010 for a conference. Black and roasty. Not as sweet as I thought it would be, but still has quite a bit of chocolate, a little molasses, and coffee. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAY 16, 2017
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated pretty quick. Streamy lace.
The aroma had a good amount of roasted dark malts, substantial milk chocolate tones, some dark chocolate, some woodiness and a little bit of smoke.
The flavor was towards the roasty side at first and bit into the sweetness slightly. Long roasty aftertaste and finish.
The palate was about medium bodied and leaning towards a decent sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Roastiness doesn’t feel a bit bigger than expected but I didn’t mind.
Overall, pretty damn good stout that I would love to have again. j12601 (13114) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - NOV 27, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep brown to black with a thin tan head. Big cocoa and roast on the nose, chocolate, cocoa. Medium bodied, chocolate, cocoa, roast. Soft sweetness, malt, and a hint of cocoa into the finish. Smooth and full of roast and cocoa.

Very dark brown pour, small off-white head. Aroma of roast, oats, notes of ham and chocolate. Flavor is roasty, smokey, milk chocolate and oats. Okay. BeAndrews (30) - Barrie, Ontario, CANADA - APR 17, 2015
Pours a dark reddish-black with a spare off-white head. Mild aroma of oil and roasted malt -- it smells nice but it’s a little odd for a Stout. Flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, oatmeal and a touch of hops. Medium bodied.

On tap in a church. Mahogany pour, some white or off white head. Aroma is dense coffee grinds, hop, some spice, malt. Flavor is the same. Good bit of bitterness. Didn’t think this was so sweet but just a really well balanced stout. vtafro (7444) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - MAY 24, 2014
Draft. Black pour with tan head. Roasted, chocolate, spiced aromas. Chocolate and roasted flavors compete with a rye finish. baraciisch (3383) - California, USA - JUN 4, 2013
