Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a small foamy brown head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was strong toasted vanilla, bourbon and cream. The flavor was bitter, astringent and fusel with vanilla, cream, artificial sugar, egg white and buttercream. Long buttercream and vanilla finish. Medium body. Very off and disappointing. On tap. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, roast. Flavor of bourbon, vanilla, a touch of coconut and sweet malt, light roast. Pretty solid bourbon barrel sweet stout. Very drinkable for the style.

Tap into a CBW glass. Rich dark color with light head. Tempting bourbon and coconut flavor. Real smooth. nike (966) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 4, 2013
Draft at Church Brew Works. Hint of bourbon in nose and little in flavor. Maybe some hint of vanilla flavoring as well. Thin feel for a stout, light body, lacking bite for stout. Decent tasting brew, easy to drink, not what one would expect from a sweet stout. Art (3220) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 1, 2013
Specialty stout on draft at Church Brew Works. Not overly bourboned like most barrel aged stouts. The barrels were 2nd use barrels so the bourbon is a bit more subdued. Church also doesn’t use a ton of dark malts so the beer is a bit thinner. It does go down smooth though.
