On tap at the brewpub. Nice mahogany - dark color, mellow roasted aroma with light hops. ads135 (5232) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - SEP 16, 2017
Very tasty dunkel. Dark with a medium body. Sweet and malt with a thinner finish than I'd expected. Tried for the first time back in 2010 at the brewery on my first trip to Pittsburgh. ganache (6108) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 30, 2017
Beautiful clear mahogany with ruby highlights, soapy white head. Nose roast and surprising chocolate, sweet. Taste strong sweet with good malt depth, good roast and malt, some subtle berry. Full body, little earthiness, low but pleasant and clean bitterness. Think I could go through two or three, a nice straightforward crowd pleaser! [2017.05.23: 3.6]

As their description says, I expected a higher ABV than 4.3%. A little hoppy but not too bitter. Has a strong, dark beer taste if you like that type of beer. For me it was OK, though probably won’t drink again anytime soon. BrewBoxer (2672) - New York, New York, USA - APR 21, 2017
Brown color with a nice nutmeg finish. Draft at the beergarten at the kimpton hotel. Very good

Pours hazy caramel. Smells roasty bread. Med off white head. Sweet Malt flavor. Smooth finish. Nothing stands out but very drinkable PanMarek (465) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 5, 2016
Clear, dark amber pour with beige, persistent foam. Sweet malt in the nose. Light fizz and slightly slick body. The taste is of caramel malt with some faint hops.

Aroma is sweet malt. Taste isn’t as roasted malty as expected. Overall a well balanced dunkel. mansquito (7274) - Nueva York, New York, USA - SEP 4, 2016
At the source: pours light for an dunkel with a white head. Aroma is caramel and light fruitiness. Taste is sweet, fruity and malty. Respectable. rondphoto (4526) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - AUG 7, 2016
bottle @ House of 1000 Beers / New Kensington PA --- Aroma of malt and brown sugar. Clear amber brown color, ivory head that stays at one-finger, streamers of lace. Taste is malt and brown sugar that moves through medium carbonation on the swallow to slight bittering, but no discernible hops. A light solid Dunkel.
