COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
About 150 years ago, this dark style lager was first brewed in Munich, Germany. Our version is fairly dark in color, but don’t be afraid. It is a perfect example that dark beers are not always strong beers. The body is surprisingly mellow, and the alcohol content is a bit lower than most people might think. It has a wonderfully clean and roasty aroma. Hop bitterness levels are kept in line, but is has a noticeable hop flavor. Our Pious Monk Dunkel finishes crisp and clean as a lager should.

Sweetly roasted toffee/coffee malts with a surprisingly nice hop goin' on. Good lacing, and I liked the brown color.

Oh my! What a nice beer. Very good roasted taste and smell, but the hops are not overpowered by it.

An attractive and tasty beer. Very clean finish. Complex without being overly complex. Mixes dark coffee flavors w/ sweetness for a pleasant blend.

By far their best all around beer. Lots of flavor without being overly bitter or watery. Always the first pitcher to empty at dinner.

Pours with a ring of lace with little stickiness. Fresh sweet corn, toffee, and a fruity malt sweetness hit the nose. Hop fruitiness and candied fruit matches the malt sweetness really well. The finish is roasty and very clean. A very well-made lager, as they are hard to come by. Cheers, Venom!
