nice moderate body with an effervescent carbonation it is strong of alcohol enhanced likely because of the blast of hop and malt in the flavor. tart and tangy a bit chalky as in the rind this brew is a hop heads reward. sweet, piney and darkish with a touch of orange candy. quite nice. UPDATED: SEP 3, 2012 Update 9/3/2012. On draught at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange/red with a thick white head. Aroma of bitter garlicky, grassy hops, pot, and caramel malt. Flavor is super hoppy and bitter with more pot, garlic, grass, and a hint of citrus. A great hop bomb and it’s hard to compare this awesome IPA on tap to the bottle form. Tasty stuff.

Bottle at PPRBSG09. Pours a clear brown. Aroma of sweet citrus and orange peel. Flavor of caramel malt upfront with citrus. Slightly astringent. Very sweet, so overall just meh.
PPRBSG09. Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Sweet viney citrus with a big etoh and floral hops. a nectar hoppiness with some pine. Eh. msante79 (2244) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - MAY 30, 2009
12oz bottle thanks to Mrchopin. Pours clear dark orangish amber with small light tan head. Aroma is citrus, pine, floral hops, sweet malt and some spices. Flavor is citrus, pine, hops, caramel and sweet malt and finishes bitter. Lots of sweet malt. Not enough hops for a double in my opinion but it is not a bad beer just not a good DIPA. tjthresh (1873) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - MAY 5, 2009
12 ounce bottle. The pour is very dark amber orange with a dense tan frothy head. The nose is light with some floral piny notes and background malt dust. The flavor is a bit like a solvent or a pine cleaner. Very thin with scrubbing carbonation and a lingering grapefruit bitterness. Tick.

CPLYFO 09. 12 oz bottle. Pours a slight hazy light amber- orange with a thin lasting head. Aroma is fragrant with floral hops, flowery, lavender, and spice- with a thin crackery malt backbone. Phenols throughout with a harsh plastic note int eh flavor esp as it warms, slightly harsh bitter hop character in the end as well - lemon lime zest and floor cleaner- solvent-like. meh. FRO Throwdown: Copper hazy. Citrus and resin, grapefruit. Serious grapefruit hop flavors, bready malts in the background. Wow on the hop flavoring. Long bitter finish. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - MAR 16, 2009
Bottle from the Otown throwdown. Deep copper color with a light head. Aroma is ok on this one with citrus and pine. But flavor is awful, tastes like a zip lock bad. Really really not good. durhambeer (2585) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAR 4, 2009
Bottle thanks to someone I forgot... Mr. Chopin? Cletus? Sorry I forgot, but THANKS, YOU! Dark pour for IPA. Simcoe and piny nose, with similar taste and a good bit of malt sweetness. Some soapy notes. lithy (2996) - Capital of Appalachia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 23, 2009
Bottle thanks to MrChopin. Dark red copper color with a lasting off white head. Very grassy, piney hop aroma. A bit thin in body with some caramel and then citrus hops in the finish.
