Crystal clear, burnt orange lager with a small, creamy, quickly dissipating, white head. Ink-blot lacing. Spicy, malty, yeasty aroma with notes of Red Delicious apple, chocolate, fig and plum. Well-balanced flavor: malty, but nicely bittered. Blasts of banana, alcohol, apple, molasses and plum. Full-bodied with medium carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Lengthy, fruity, then bone-dry finish. Very nice beer. Pulls up just short of being world class in my book! SudsMcDuff (8438) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - AUG 23, 2012

Retired per ratebeer but they had a new batch on 8/2012. Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a tan-brown color with a huge fluffy-creamy orange-cream head that lingered forever and left incredible lacing. The aroma was semi-sweet and bready with a hint of clove. The flavor was sweet, tangy and bready with fairly strong notes of clove and bubblegum and an undertone of rye bread. The finish was long with clove, bubblegum and bread lingering. Moderately full bodied. Solid. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 15, 2012
This one poured a semi cloudy dark red color with a beige head. Aroma was lots of fruity esters, light spie notes, and some bread too. Flavor was bananas, clove, bread pudding, and light toasted caramel notes. Pretty solid for the style. Nate (4279) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 21, 2012
Sampled at the brewery. Light caramel and roasted barley. Chocolate malt. Sweet. Medium coppery brown clear with thin off-white lacing head. Medium heavy body with medium-high carbonation. Starts fairly sweet with caramel, brown sugar, neutral fruity character - some Twizzlers. Carbonic tang at the finish, with very mild bitterness. Sweet but watery nutty after with some light carbonic acidity.

Banana bran muffins in liquid form. Dark brown, very carbonated looking but actual palate was smoother. Along with the strong sweet banana was some smoke and a dry finish. It’s only drawback was that the body seemed a little thin. boto (2250) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - NOV 19, 2004
Draught at the brewery: Served in a tulip glass. This one pours a clear, very dark amber. There was a bit of an off-white head that had some lacing. There was some sweetness to the nose: malts, fruits (plums and raisins?) as well as a hint of alcohol. The taste has notes of caramel sweetness, some fruit, and a hint of tartness in the aftertaste. Somewhat warming. Good! MAP (1133) - Lakewood, Ohio, USA - NOV 8, 2004
From Growler: Poured a nice redish brown with a thin layer of head. Good spicey malt nose, somehwta nutty as well. Flavor has a hint of banana and berry and the palate is rather smooth overall. The alcohol content is not obvious so it results in a quite drinkable experience. blank (996) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 23, 2002
