Cask conditioned at The Boars Head, Hampton Lucy, Warks. Pale gold / straw with white head. Malty dry, light beer, the merest hint of hop late on and sweetish, greenish barley notes, some juicy lemon. It’s ok but could have offered more. downender (8658) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 27, 2009
Cask-conditioned at the Cross Hands, Winterbourne Down, S Gloucestershire 27/10/09. Pale gold with a fluffy white head. The cereals were really to the fore with this beer - an odd mix of sweet corn and grains, with some limey hops luking in the background and a dryish finish. Didn’t offer much for a 5% ABV beer. Cask at the brewtap (’India Green Ale’). As the IPA, overly soft and malty. Burnished amber wrapped in lace. Nose faint watery hop. Bread and biscuit-driven softness with a tea-like hint of...Target, apparently. Mostly empty caramel mushiness, Polish pale lager meets Black Country cereally softness. Just so...so-so. Zzz.
