@nottingham beer festival. Aroma is butterscotch, caramel, malts. Appearance is dark body with off white lacing. Taste is medium heavy sweetness, then medium bitter. Palate is full and rich with soft carbonation and a creamy finish. I liked it and if it were not for the fact that it was shared with a friend, I would have drank far more!

Cask conditioned at Cheltenham Beer Festival ’16. Chestnut with cream head. Initially there is a smoky note in the darker roasted malts, a touch nutty, a touch stewed. Drying in the close. It’s fine.

jjsint (3492) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 31, 2014
Cask at Rushden Historical Transport Society Club. Dark brown with a tan wispy head. Aroma of Ovaltine, honey, oak and hazelnut with a bit of corn. Sweet-sour initial taste gives way to a bittersweet flavour in the finish. Medium body, slightly bitter aftertaste. More coffee, a bit of vinegar. Not bad.

On cask at Travellers Inn, Apperknowle - Deep black body, firm lacing white top. Smoky coffee and malts nose, long bitter sweet caramel taste and finish, notes of liquorice, bitter chocolate and blackcurrant along the way. Smooth mouthfeel, not a bad stout.

Black with a bubbly head, has light roasted coffee notes and a very mild flavour. Less than medium body but easy to drink.

Cask handpull at the excellent Seven Stars, Bristol. Almost black, with an off white head. Very rich flavour - it has a mild liquorice and smokey treacle chocolate aroma. Very enjoyable!
