UPDATED: APR 25, 2004 Re-rate: April 24, Winking Judge, Hamilton: The 2004 edition of this beer has a lot more cranberry on the palate. It's refreshing, not particularly syrupy, but obfuscates the other elements. So it's a saw-off, really. I like it more because I like cranberries, but it's not as strong technically.

On tap at Smokeless Joe's. Straw colour; aroma of cranberries, almond skins, wheat; very nutty palate, tea-like at times, with hints of fruit providing an interesting backdrop. Light, refreshingly wheaty finish. Not really to my taste, but I have to respect that this is a well-structured, technically proficient, balanced beer. Ar:6, Ap:2, Fl: 6, P:4, O:12

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2006 Golden ale with a compact white head. Cherry Halls aroma, very seet and chemical. Sweet fruity tatse with more of a maraschino cherry aftertaste. Very light bodied. Tap at Pub Italia. 5-3-5-2-10

Hazy golden ale with a thin white head. Sweet cranberry aroma with light maple, very pleasant. In mouth, a tart refreshing wheat with light maple notes. A nice quaffer. Bottle bought by KP, April 2006. 7-3-7-3-13

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2007 May 2007. Bottle from the brewery courtesy of Tupalev. Very cranberry centric flavour is more tart than the sweet cranberry aroma. Pleasant light bitterness in the flavour balances it nicely. Not much maple, light hint of musty basement in the finish. Average palate. Quite serviceable fruit beer - I am somewhat surprised that this is rated so low. 6+/3/7/3/14 - 3.3 <P>July 2003. Sampled the Cranberry Maple wheat which I had not tried before. It was quite good, and pleasantly surprising since I am sometimes not a fan of cranberries. Can’t really taste the maple. 8/5/6/3/14 - 3.6

Pale golden colour, almost no head. Beautiful cranberry aroma with notes of other sweet berries. A hint of maple in the flavour, but not in the nose. Flavour shows huge cranberry/strawberry character. Sweet pale malt as well. Short, fruity finish.

Bottle. Pours a bubbly gold with a small diminishing white head. Big cranberry and maple aroma -- really nice. Flavour also of cranberries and maple syrup along with some wheat and malt. Well balanced and not cloying at all. Light bodied. Very refreshing, a great summer patio beer -- I can see how it would be an acquired taste but I really like it.

Very light in aroma, hard to find anthing. Slight maple accent, based on thin body. Needs more juice.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2007 Bottle (341ml) courtesy of tupalev - thank you!. Poured light golden with a thin, fine white head which quickly diminished, no lacing. Clean, a little bubbling, but not particularly carbonated. Looks like flat ginger ale. Aroma - very sweet, smells like a popsicle, or maybe ice cream - not appealing to me at all, but I soldier on. Flavour is thin, mouthfeel, flat, gruelish, vaguely sweet, hint of stale maple, cranberry only apparent in lack of overwhelming cloying taste - fast diminish. From the bottle this is pretty lame, but I am giving it higher marks because I had it on tap and it was interesting - avoid in the bottle.

Boutip (6628) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 17, 2005
Bottle: Poured a light yellow color ale with a huge bubbly head with average retention. Aroma of cranberry bubblegum? mix with some strong wheat malt. Taste is very refreshing with lots of tart cranberry, strong wheat malt and some well balance sweetness from the maple. Nice mix between a wheat beer and a fruit beer. I’m starting to really like brewery.
