Our Holy Smoke is a peat-smoked scotch ale. This 6.25% abv ale is dark and malty, and is enhanced with smoked whisky malt straight from Scotland.

Nice smokey scent, like a nice warm fireplace. Very dark brown red pour with a thin light tan head. Thick mouth. Nice flavour. Reminds me of the Hickory Farms meat stick that you get with their cheeses. Malty aftertaste. A nice beer, I wouldn’t want to session it, one at a time it’s great though.

341 mL bottle, found in the back of the fridge. Deep, dark mahogany brown with a small tan head that fades to a ring. Aroma of sweet malt and smoke. The same can be said of the taste, with the addition of a little green apple and licorice. The smoke is nice, not overwhelming. Medium body and carbonation. Great in barbeque sauce.

Draugh at Volo. Mahogany pour with a sparse white head. Aroma of smoked cheddar.Taste is also of smoked cheddar or meat. Palate needs to be a bit thicker ot make this a well-balanced beer, but good nonetheless.

Has the smokiness with the malt and the sourness that yoiu would want. The aromas seem to hit a bit more of the old cheese standard.

bottled at beer bistro in toronto. a couple steps down from aecht rauchbier. smoky flavor and aroma, but that’s where the similarity ends. the malt profile is obstensibly lacking, huge dissappointment.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2007 341 ml bottle - pours a dark clear mahogany with a decent white head. Aroma kind of faint but mainly sweet malt and some smoke of course, along with a subtle sourness. I wasn’t expecting much, but the flavour is quite lovely - not like other smoked beers I’ve had that hit you over the head with their smoked meat flavours, this one is very clean and bears the stamp of actual wood smoke - hickory and peat - an earthiness under a rich malty body. Full-flavoured, delicious and highly quaffable for a smoked. Would be fantastic in autumn.

Bottle. Dark reddish amber colour with a nice white head. Aroma of chocolate and very little hints of smoke. Nice fine flavour of malt, sweetness and someway easy to drink for a smoke beer.

Bottled sample from radiomgb. Medium brown in colour with hints of red. Aromas of vanilla chocolates, malt, and a hint of smoke. More malt in the mouth with a much more pronounced sour-smoke twang. A bit of burnt malt flavor as well. Somewhat oily texture, but in a very nice way. Even though I was expecting to enjoy this one, it exceeded my expectations. Great stuff.
