3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Forgot to rate this last month when I had it in the bottle from the brewery and on tap at The Stinking Rose in Campbellford. I am going to rate it now off the second bottle I bought from that visit which I have just cracked . Medium orange, creamy orange tinted white head. Really nice pumpkin aroma - some spice, some sweetness, really enjoyable. Taste - much more on the sweet than spicy side - one of the few pumpkin beers which is not drowning in spice. Mixes well with the alcohol. Not sure how it balances it out with what I assume is the house taste of Church Key - either yeast or water (I’m not near knowledgeable enough about this sort of stuff, I can only describe what I taste) - it does fine, but there is soemthing just a bit unbalances initially (like pumpkin added to Northumberland). Alcohol well hidden - a very drinkable pumpkin. A solid effort.
Thanks to Ron for this bottle. Pours a slight hazy light golden colour with a white head, decent retention and lots of thick soapy lace. Spicy aromas with some cinnamon and the soapy hops. Pretty close to the same for the taste, with just a tad of sweet malt in the background with the pumpkin puree. Feels like real ingredients, and not essences. Still, a little unbalanced to be a good pumpkin beer. pushkinwow (2962) - Ottawa, CANADA - OCT 8, 2013
Cask at Beau’s Oktoberfest 2013. Very much a pumpkin pie in the bottle with a doughy malt presence, mild carbonation, moderate body, a smooth palate and a sweet ending. Interesting because the doughiness and sweetness balance well without overwhelming the spice and vise versa. AGAquino (704) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 7, 2013
On tap at Bar Hop. Pours a nice orangy amber with a slightly head. Refreshing pumpkin, spice and malts. Nice carbonation. mabel (10003) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 30, 2012
[4907-20121031] Tap. Herbal soapy fruit cinnamon spice aroma. Slightly hazy, light golden orange body with a quick bubbly head. Floral herbed yeast flavour has a little cinnamon. Medium body. Interesting but odd with the fruit infusion. (6/3/6-/3/13) 3.1

An orange amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice nutmeg and cloves, smooth and classic. In mouth, a nice balanced caramel malt with natural cinnamon, and cloves, nice. On tap at Wellington Gastropub, Oct. 18 2012. jercraigs (11095) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 12, 2012
2012-10-31. Lightly hazy orange boy, small beige head. 3+ Flavour has an odd tangy fruity quality, pumpkin, mild bitterness. 6+ Aroma is similar, tangy fruity pumpkin is the dominant character. 6+ Average bodied palate. Not unpleasant but there is something odd about the way the pumpkin character presents itself. Not sure it was not in the best shape, or if I just didn’t care for it. On tap at Bar Hop, Toronto

Enjoyed on cask at WVRST. Cloudy orange coloured body, and lacey. Very fresh tasting pumpkin and spices. Nice drinkability for the style. Medium mouthfeel. Nutmeg aromas, cinammon, white pepper, allspice. HogTownHarry (7086) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - OCT 22, 2012
October 12, 2012 - draught pint at BurgerBar. Very clear bright and refractive amberish gold with an average creamy off-white head (3+). Smells like pleasant pumpkin pie spice - nutmeg and cinnamon, not much actual pumpkin character. Taste follows, a little pumpkin meat tang, quite grainy. Light body, a little slick and astringent, decent carbonation - a solid MOR pumpkin ale, mostly about the spice.
